Ford Teases Possible F-150 Lightning EV Performance Pickup Concept

Today, Ford released an infographic while announcing the company's return to Formula 1 racing. One of the images under the headline "EV Performance Demonstrators" shows the shadowy silhouette of a mystery electric pickup performance concept with the words "Coming Soon" on it, presumably related to, or based on, the F-150 Lightning.

The other silhouettes hint at new Mustang race cars and the Ranger Raptor.

Ford spokesperson Emma Berg wouldn't comment on future product but indicated that EV demonstrators are a key component of Ford's changing motorsports strategy. "Just like E-Transit Supervan and Mach-E 1400, we'll continue to introduce more that show how exciting electric vehicles can be."

No doubt they're not being complacent and have items in the pipeline. Question is how far down the pipeline are they? I see 3 items that are "coming soon" in their presentation.

While I’m going to dream of a Lightning Raptor with the guts of the Mach-E 1400, I’ll settle for a Lightning Raptor with the right suspension and travel for some sweet high speed chronic back pain-inducing jumps

The funny thing is "Lightning" was orignally Ford's performance F-150 model, but now that Raptor expanded to include both performance and expanded off road capabilities, there's room for all sorts of variations.

Tremor gives you extra off roading, but then again so does Fx4.
Raptor gives you off roading + speed.
Lightning gives you speed.

So if Lightning is already fast, adding better off-roading could make it a Raptor or Tremor, but if you just add more speed, you have to come up with something else like bring back "SHO" (Super High Output).
