Frunk chime speaker removal triggers fault code?

I have seen a video here of a fella removing frunk chime speaker (I agree with him,it’s annoying).Does anyone know if removal triggers a fault code?

I can't say if it does, but if that is the case, the solution would be to use a resistor to provide the load that the speaker was providing. The code would be generated by not seeing a load from the speaker.

Assuming the speaker's impedance is 8 ohms (many are, but this should be checked), it should be replaceable by a 10 ohm resistor to adequately pull a load that "looks" like a speaker.

As for the resistor's power rating, I would measure the voltage when the sound is being produced and do the calculations to figure out how much power it is, then double the rating for the resistor. I wouldn't expect it to be very much perhaps a watt or two if that.

Pretty sure I've seen a clip in "adapter" that simply plugs in and solves the sensor problem (essentially exactly what Calvin wrote, but a purchasable product)

This person says no error. I think there are others in that thread that also mention no error from pulling the frunk chime speaker.

If I remember correctly it does set a DTC...but it's one you wouldn't get a notification for.
