Was checking out Stage 3’s site…. Good selection. Anyone know the difference between the Bak G2 and the MX4?
Functionally and dimensionally the 2 covers are the same. The g2 is a composite core textured glossy finish, 3 yr warranty. The mx4 is aluminum panneled with a smoother still textured matte finish (much nicer look in my opinion) with a new 5yr warranty.

If interested in a cover feel free to shoot me a message for forum pricing.

I park my truck in the garage, but it is an extremely tight fit and I cannot lower the tailgate without pulling out of the garage.

Does anyone know of a cover that you can access without opening the tailgate, and is under $1,000?

Peragon at $949 with free shipping for the crew cab bed. But to close it you might have to pull a strap with the tailgate down. Also the platinum package @ $199 xtra is worth it. If you sign up for their email and put your truck configuration in their data base but don't order right away they might offer the platinum package free.

I had an Undercover Flex, and loved it. It was pretty easy to install and remove. No leaks but I had to drill some holes for the drain tubes. For my new truck, I'm planning to get this type of tonneau cover from 4wheelonline.

Mine is the factory installed cover. It folds, it’s hard and it’s secure. Works great for me.

I like the Undercover tonneau covers. They are hard, and they roll over the edge, making them more water resistant. My old 2005 F150 with Scab, 4x4 and 6.5' box had an Undercover. I never could get any of the other style of tonneaus to keep all water out of the bed.

My current 2014 has a cap. Undercover did not make an 8' long tonneau, so I got a cap. If I get the ordered PB with 6.5' bed, I will look at the Undercover again. Main drawback is $$$.

Just picked my truck up today, and had the tonneau installed. Had ordered a Leer HF650. And I really like it. The latch mechanism is easy to use. It's looks great, the materials are really sturdy and opens up fully without touching the rear window. Can close with the tail gate open or closed. Only an XLT so no power up, but push button opens no problem. Don't need drain tubes. And the stake pockets are not covered.

Installed a Retrax MX Pro Tonneau cover on my truck today. I feel great about it. Looks sharp, easy to open, locks up tight. I feel good about the added weight in the back too.

Any idea how water tight it will be? On my old 2005 F150, I could never find a regular tonneau that was water tight. So I went with an Undercover brand tonneau. It over lapped the bed all the way around.

This is not expected to be 100% watertight (Retrax's warranty information specifically calls this out), but it should largely protect my stuff from the weather. I'll be running my truck through a car wash soon to evaluate what it looks like on the inside. Since what I plan to mostly store in here on a semi-permanent basis is camping gear, a little moisture here and there isn't gonna hurt it. My main concern was both security and ease of access. Also as a bonus I was looking for a way to add weight to the bed.

Very helpful, thanks @Blinky! I’m curious to know where did you get yours from. Was gonna try and order it through auto accessories garage or auto anything (which ever gives me a better deal) with a price match from shopeddies. I’ve heard that the Leer customer service isn’t that great but if you go through a third party that has better customer service it’s better. Thanks in advance!
