Has anyone converted their fold down armrest (40/20/40 front seats) to a flip-up storage bin?

This is what I have I my 2021 XLT 301A minus the shifter. Mine's on the column because that's where I wanted it. I custom ordered it that way.

Yeah, I purposely want the 20 seat so I can seat 6 if I ever needed. It's my only vehicle which seats more than 5, so has logic.

I didn't even know that was an option. Your best bet is probably to find another middle seat and swap it with yours. Or secure some OEM parts and swap it, yourself. I don't know about hollowing it out. I'd rather have what you're after vs my work surface. Thing is stupid...

You SHOULD be able to get just the seat back (and therefore armrest) and swap it with the one you currently have. Good luck finding one, however.

I have no idea what it cost me. I bought it off the lot, and the only reason that truck was even ON the lot was because it was a custom order truck that Ford built it as a column shift truck but it was ordered with a console shift. The whole truck cost me a ton, regardless. I get the occasional use out of the work surface. It's just silly to me that it CAN'T swing to the passenger side.
