I am looking to move my fire department communication radio from my old truck to my 23 Lightning Lariat ER (15" screen). Anybody successfully install a 2-way radio? Thoughts on where to fit it? (The Kenwood I have has a remote face, so I don't need to fit the entire unit into a spot on or near the dash. https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KRK-10-remote-control-NX-700/dp/B00R8M3ZWI

Anyone pull something like this off?

Thanks! I note, though that the thread seems to relate to antennas, rather than in-cab placement.
If you watch the video he does spend a few minutes talking about placement and routing the power. He put the unit under the driver seat and used an arm to hold the head unit. Unfortunately, he didnโ€™t really show the mounting very well.

I would recommend that you look for an upfit guide for the Lightning. Since the Pro is being sold to fleet users including police and fire departments, I would expect that such a guide exists for second stage/upfit shops.

Alternatively, you might want to check with your local Kenwood or Motorola shop.

Installing a 2-way radio can be straightforward if you take it step-by-step. First, make sure you have a good spot for the antenna. If you're using a walkie talkie australia brand, you're off to a good start since they're known for reliability. It should be as high up as possible and away from obstructions to get the best signal. Then, connect the antenna to the base unit and plug in the power. For the most part, you need to follow the instructions in the manual, which should guide you through the setup. If youโ€™re having trouble, checking out online forums or videos about your model might help. Donโ€™t hesitate to ask if you hit any snags.
