Rapid Red F150 Lightning Lariat Extended Battery
Our F150 Lightning arrived yesterday after months of transit hold delay. We didn't waste anytime installing the Dualliner bedliner.

Why the Dualliner? We very much intend to use the Lightning as a suburban truck carrying furniture, bikes, motorcycles, towing a small boat, spousal errands, etc. I didn't bother to spec any kind of bed lining at the time of the order, because I like a short option sheet. So, I knew that I needed to do something.

Spray in bedliners don't do anything to prevent dents and can be abrasive for some types of cargo. Drop in plastic bedliners result in unsecured cargo sliding around and make compromises for fitment. For our use and anticipated cargo, the Dualliner seemed like the best solution, because it protects the sides from scratches and dents while the rubber mat protects the bed floor and keeps things from sliding around.

Installation Impressions
  • Between boxlink and the standard anchors, you've got 32 machine T30 Torx machine bolts to remove and reinstall. We did them by hand with ratchets and wow, that approach took a long time, but we didn't strip anything.
  • Once that hardware was removed, the side pieces snapped in quite snugly. It took a little finagling to get the sides under the plastic bed rails, but the resulting fitment was quite excellent.
  • The fitment got even better as we reinstalled the hardware (again, the 32 bolts). It was at this point that it really started looking legit great. We did this part out of order with the video and instructions which suggest that you do this last, but we found it easier to make sure that the hardware bolt holes lined up without the heavy rubber bed floor liner in place.
  • That rubber bed floor liner mat is heavy and quite convincing. It's also a very snug fit. It hilariously ripped a whole finger off of my nitrile gloves... twice. Watch your finger tips between the heavy mat and those channels.

Other thoughts
  • While I think that this type of bedliner is perfect for our use, I wouldn't use it for mulch, sand, and other messy loads. Compared to a plastic drop in liner, you've got a long groove channel around the perimeter of the bed floor, which will likely catch/collect messy loads.
  • The video on their website, while helpful makes this install look much easier than it is in practice. Installation is by no means difficult, but we laughed at the ease she tosses in the bed floor mat.

I have that in my 2013 F-150, it's great. Hauled over 9 tons of scrap in it.

I don't know. I've had either Rhino or Line-X on three trucks now, I didn't put it in my Taco, and I've never seen any denting of the bed or liner.

Until reading this, I don't think I've ever even heard of it happening.

Thanks for sharing. I regret not ordering the spray in liner with my truck. This looks like a nice alternative, and shouldn't have any rattling once installed.
I'm ordering one one.

I ordered mine and had it 3 months before I had my Lightning. It has now been installed for 6 months and it has been great.

Initially I was afraid to order a spray in liner from Ford so as not to possibly delay my order. This DualLiner works great for our needs.

I took delivery of my XLT SR last Thursday, the 6th of April. After months of being stuck in transit as well. I didn’t order mine with a bed-liner because it supposedly could cause a delay. I can’t imagine how much longer it could have gotten. Lol. I really like those Dualliners. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for what I usually use my truck for. But they look nice. I’ll look into its cost comparison. Congratulations on finally getting your Lightning! I love that red.

I also decided not to add the bedliner option to my 2022 Lariat order sheet. My dealer said that it would add additional time in the production line. Within one week of receiving the 150 Lightning, I added the Rhino spray-in bedliner at a cost of $600. It looks great and has held up well.
