Hi all--I've noticed some others working on ways to use this Magnum rack. The lights seem to be a big hang up for a lot of folks, which is understandable.
I spent a little more time on this today than I had planned, but the result is an approach to the rear cab lighting and camera that I'm pretty happy with.
This is in prototype phase...but it preserves all normal functionality, doesn't interfere with the rack or camera, and doesn't have a lot of the goofy side effects of hooking up to the trailer connector ("btw your power tailgate won't work and you're truck will constantly think you're hauling a trailer).
if anyone's interested I can post a little more detail when I'm not late for supper. Which I'm supposed to be making.
Round 2 will include a slicker aluminum cover for the holes on back of cab, and probably a lengthened harness.
Round 3, I would consider grinding all the extra lights off the Mag rack and making an aluminum enclosure for the stock light.
