I tried to watch the video, but it will not load now, maybe too many viewers. My hope for the Lightning battery is that as new technology comes on line with longer ranges and lighter batteries, someone makes one for us that we can retrofit.

I learned the location of the temperture sensors. They apparently harvest and sell used modules. I think I saw on the website their modules are not intended for use in vehicles. @MickeyAO already posted that removal/replacement of individual cells from Lightning modules are not easy.

In the future shops like this will provide an alternate source of used modules, but determining real SOH of those will be the trick.

Video loaded for me, but I'm not sure if these guys are just late to market and trying to make a name for themselves, or is he trying to really say that in 2024 Ford actually made these updates to the battery pack? I haven't been over to Monroe in a while, but they are usually very clear in their videos. They've got one of the first tear down videos.

Greentec has a network of shops in areas where EVs are popular and do offer battery and module replacements for both EVs and hybrids. There is one in my area. https://www.greentecauto.com/locations

Their website does not say anything about the Lightning or Mach-E though, maybe too new to have used modules in wide circulation. They do have the Ford hybrids and the older Focus EV on their website.

The only modern full BEVs (I would define as 200+ mile range) they have replacement batteries on their site for is Tesla. A Model Y long range battery is listed at $9999 for example.

From the looks of it, tech has changed and the 23 Lightning is SOL for a battery conversion.
What in particular has changed?

Looks like the battery cooling line connectors as well as the bus connections as far as I see. This from the Green tech auto video I saw.
