I have the MyQ which does not integrate with CarPlay - so I was looking for a better option:

Amazon Link
  • You can control your devices hands free, just give voice commands to turn on/off the connected devices. Compatible with Apple HomeKit, Siri, Amazon Alexa and CarPlay. Please scroll down and check in the "Product guides and documents - User Manual" for more product information.
Apparently this integrates directly with Apple HomeKit and allows CarPlay integration - including voice commands from CarPlay "Siri, open my garage door".

Anyone tried? Mine is enroute - bought directly from Meross ($50) along with a 3rd door opener option (+$16) w/free shipping:

Meross MSG200HK

The "HK" is important in the model number - as that indicates Apple "HomeKit" compatibility.

I have the msg100 and yes it works with siri and carplay to an extent. There is no meross app that will show up in carplay. If you add it in homekit the garage door will pop up when you get close to your house however it will only pop up the last used garage door on the summary screen so if you have 2 garage doors it's kind of useless. I don't understand why both don't show at the same time. I just use siri, tell her to open or close the garage doors and that works flawlessly.

For whatever reason, there are times that Siri doesn't won't hear anything(like my children) so I have my garage door linked to home asssitant which is available in car play as a backup.

The only issue that's more annoying than anything is that it takes up to a minute for my lightning to load up carplay so I find im in my driveway waiting for it to load. I could use my watch or phone but in order for siri to work you have to unlock your device, carplay you do not.

I'm wondering if I can add a second SIRI command "Siri, open garage door 2" in this method?

Manufacturer 'claims' better homekit integration with the "HK" designated model numbers - guess I'll find out ;)

You can either say siri open garage door "A" or "B" or "ALL".
I like the functionality that the garage door comes up automatically in carplay as you approach the house I just wish it didn't chose the garage door for you or just have both pop up. This is a funciton of carplay not Meross.

Having this functionality has made homelink irrelevant, at least for me I never use it.

Clarifying question: You can do this via carplay SIRI, yes? I.e.; press the SIRI button on the steering wheel and voice the command?

You can say "Hey SIRI" if you have this turned on in the phone already.
You also need to turn on SIRI Suggestions in CarPlay or it will not suggest the Garage when you approach. This all works very well in my opinion.

Sweet. Should have it all here Saturday. Will install sometime next week.

I currently have the MyQ system, but I'm not going to pay them a monthly fee so that I can access it directly from the Truck CarPlay interface.

+1 to what @reddog21 said, I have the Meross unit added to Homekit and you can name each door whatever. I long hold down the voice command button on the steering wheel to get to the iPhone and just say "open the Ford" or "open the Ferrari" for one of the two garage doors. ...just kidding on the 2nd one since I am a winning (big) lottery ticket away from the 2nd one.

I've had two of these for a while and I love them. They work great. I have Mustang Garage Door and Lightning Garage Door.

For me it's not a problem because each vehicle stays in their own side and we dont' swap vehicles very often. So the Lightning door pops up for me in the truck, and the Mustang door pops up for my fiancé in the Mustang.

Meross products work incredibly well with HomeKit. I have quite a few of them in the house.

yes, works very well for 1 garage door. if multiple, it just shows the last door. Make sure you have a apple tv or homepod so the hub functionality is enabled for your home network.

Odd you mention Apple router. I just upgraded to Ubiquiti from Orbi. Apple came before that about 10 years back. I just found it in the back of a closet and it went to the wasteland in the sky.
