Hi all,
My driver's side rear cabin vent is leaking. Dealer will replace the vent under warranty but they have to remove the bed to do so! Since my bed has a factory spray in liner those bolts are sprayed and have to come out, plus they are one time use. That means new bolts and possible damage to the metal part of the bed during removal. Also the dealer/Ford will not cover any expenses related to patching the bed liner (so they say).
My questions are:
1. Can spray in bed liners be patched? My internet sleuthing says yes but it would be good to confirm.
2. Is removing the bed necessary to replace the vent? It looks that way to me but again, would like to confirm.
3. Are there other ways to repair the leak without replacing the vent? Maybe I can seal around it from the inside? Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!
