Anyone know how to get the ball rolling on a Lemon Law buyback in Kentucky? I know that I am now able to file a complaint but do I need a Lawyer? Advice?

Of coarse you will. It is a law after all. Thatā€™s what those lawyers live for.

Sorry to see you having the kind problem that would push into having to return the truck. Iā€™ve had the best of luck (so far) with my 2022 Lariat ER. But it does make me nervous to the issues that are popping up out here on the forum.

Good Luck!

Signed, Fellow Hillbilly.

I'm familiar with what the law states I didn't know if there was any other people out there that had some info about it. I actually just got off the chat session with Ford directly and they have case they're going to let me know within 5 days.

My truck has been sitting at the dealer since March 24th and they have no estimate for how much longer they'll take.

Since it's gone well past 30 days. In New York State, that legally gives me the right to use the Lemon Law. The big question is where do I start?

For the record, the last time I used that dealer for service, my previous truck sat there for over 4 months before I ended up trading it in rather than waiting any longer. I had already missed the entire summer of family outings with my family and I was just plain tired of waiting.

It was outside the Lemon Law terms because it was about 4 years old, and this breakdown is giving me a bad case of deja vu. I won't miss another summer without my truck.

I've been working this for mine for a couple of months, and finally got approved.

The very first thing you should do, and do quickly, is mail a certified letter requesting that your issue be resolved within 30 days or that you will begin the process of lemon law on your vehicle. Within days of receipt Ford will have someone assigned to your case. That person will be doing a little more than the regular CSR that gets assigned via this forum or if you just call the service line. You also need this letter for the buy back process if you were to go outside of Ford via BBB or lawyer. I used a template I got online for Texas lemon law.

Keep in mind that for Ford to go through the buy back process requires 30 days in the shop, but the clock doesn't start until after the issue is diagnosed. So the week my car sat in the shop pending diagnosis did not count.

I also kept a spreadsheet with dates, durations at the shop, and notes with names of everyone I spoke with from the moment the issue began. You'll need this as they will want to reach out to the people who have worked on the car.

Also keep a copy of every service document you get.

BBB and lawyer are legitimate paths, but in my case I wanted to avoid the extra hassle and felt I had a pretty solid foundation for my claim.
