Fair points.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the math behind it and clarifying why windchill X on day 1 might not be the same as windchill X on day 2.

I was thinking of it along those terms of wind speed, air density, and pressure, all of which impact range, but missed the fact windchill 15F could be comprised from different variables on different days.
Its safe to say that wind chill itself(at face value) has no effect on range. The variables that one would use to calculate wind chill are the factors that effect range(with differing and non-constant relationship). The more I think about it, the more egregious it was that wind chill was mentioned at all.

TFL needs to do better...

Not really.

Windchill is irrelevant. Windchill says nothing about windspeed. The windspeed noted was 7 mph, which is almost nothing. The windchill is what this crappy, clickbait publication focused on, showing how lousy it is.

More shocking is it says nothing of wind direction(as related to travel). I would argue that is important than the speed.

The other problem with wind-chill and feels like temp is that the car does not care what it feels like on your skin. Temp 15 degrees wind 65mph (driving down the highway) feels like really really cold, but the car only knows 15 degrees. Wind can't make the car colder than the actual temp. It can bring the car temp and actual temp closer together faster. If you stuck your head out the window, then wind-chill matters, but only to you. The car still doesn't care. Headwind, tailwind, crosswind matter to range as does temperature, but the feels like temp matters not one bit to the car.

That was the entire point of my post...
