May 2022 and still no PAAK

I’m an earlier bird, and I never got the PAAK update. I’ve called Ford and they said to wait, that was 8 months ago. Took it to the dealer, same thing. Took its back to the dealer, same result. I’m at a standstill at this point. Any suggestions? 2022 Lariat extended range.

Had the same issue when I got my '22 Lariat. I ended up buying a mongoose and FDRS and did it myself. You can get details on how its done here:

This is what I did, pretty easy. Didn’t have time to leave my truck at a dealership for a whole day or two.

If having Paak is worth $500+, then get a Mongoose and an FDRS subscription. If not, continue to wait. The APIM update is quite large and is difficult for some to get OTA.

BTW, you can use it to update your Mach-E also.

Did the dealership update the APIM module? If they did, try deleting the VIN from FordPass and reinstalling it. That was the final step that got mine working.

It's worth making an effort to get, in my opinion.

Did you have any options in the truck to indicate that PAAK was available? I still dont have it either and also still have the old UI.

No, once I knew the right module was updated I had to delete the VIN from FordPass and reload it. As soon as I did that the option became available to use PaaK. I was totally up-to-date except for PaaK.

If you are going to have a dealer do it, have them update to the new UI too. I'm not sure what module that is, maybe someone else can weigh in.

Nice! I missed that there was a new update out there.

I haven't carried a FOB since PaaK started working for me. My wife just remarked today how nice it was to be able to use the truck without a key. We just got back from camping and it was so nice to not have to keep track of the FOB.
