Charge to 100% Button:
I know it used to exist, but I can't find it anywhere in the FordPass app...I'm running v5.02.

Did a software update kill it? I've probably used it 3 times previously.

I don't use the Charge to 100% button much, but when you want it, you want it. Is there way to override set charge times and caps associated with my home Ford Charge Station Pro via inside the truck without having to log in and change the charging parameters?

I was going to visit my sister for the weekend and didn't "need" the extra range, but wanted it just in case we used the Lightning for a couple runs to the liquor/grocery store. She lives out beyond Bumblef**k and its 20 minutes to anywhere. A couple of those type runs and I'd be running on the EV version of fumes on the return trip to the hacienda. In the end, I gave up looking after 10 minutes in the app and just resolved to make her drive if we needed something, which is fine.

But I was wondering where they hid the Charge to 100% button...

It's just the "start" button where it displays the current SOC, that will make it ignore the schedule and start charging to 100% So it's on the front page, and it's on the page you get to when you click the energy button on the bottom.

Funny, I don't have the "start" charging button, wonder if its because I have driving data and vehicle location turned off? I get a pop up stating Energy Features Disabled when I hit the energy button at the bottom. Here is what my screen looks like:

While charging you select the energy icon and a new slider bar shows to increase the charge limit. Actually a nice implementation as I can adjust throughout the day if I need to go higher then 90% but want to wait until right before leaving to go over the 90%. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, unfortunately, if you value privacy, you lose a lot of the options in Fordpass since things like that aren't direct communication between the app and the truck. Ford sticks their servers in the middle of it all, hoovering up our data. If you want to be able to charge to 100% without going out to the truck and triggering it in the infotainment, you're going to need to enable all that juicy data sharing.

I consider walking to the truck a few times a year to charge to 100% a part of Ford's complementary weight loss program. My driving data sharing remains off.

I don't mind sharing some technical data to help Ford improve the next Gen Lightning but I have little faith that my driving data won't come back to bite me in one form or another. Especially in light of the fact that the company that collects it is the same company that is OK with playing these stupid games to get their hands on my data.

Even if they don't do anything to monetize it today because GM is in hot water for it, there will be a day that a brilliant employee walks in a meeting while the stock is in the crapper and tells CEO, we have all this data and I can use it to save your job . Between the managers and engineers looking for a promotion and the CEO that is getting ready to get out with a fat bonus, no one in that room will give a second thought to the side effects of it on the rest of us.

And the notion that data is not personally identifiable can only give piece of mind to the arrogant. Most of the data collected on human behavior is used to shape the behavior of the masses to benefit a few. Guess what, chances are, I am part of that mass not the few regardless of what my mama told me.

Sorry, I can't help the rant when it comes to privacy.

I have a handful of things I do to minimize my digital footprint, VPN's,, my own email domains hooked to a paid email provider, a very large hosts file (thank you adaway). For the PCI strip out lots windows crap and I've rooted my phone and running a firewall and an app that allows me to do low level control on other apps.

I didn't accept the latest "Privacy" statement on the app either.

You're right, about corporate culture and yeah, a big bonus for the exec. Sometimes you get the elevator and sometimes you get the shaft ...

Just for the record, I shared the data and presto! I can select charging % again, just as described by invertedspear in post 5, under the energy tab. Had to cycle the truck on/off for the changes to take affect in the app, and close and open the app as well.

Now to decide whether I want the charge slide enough to allow Ford to collect the data.🤔
