Phoenix Electrify Expo

We took a trip to join Ford at their Cars & Coffee before the Electrify Expo. Had a good time.

My partner was already in town for a work meeting, so we brought both the Mustang and the Lightning (Grabber Blue and one of the greys).

I was hoping without any hope we would get a sneak peak of something new, but no such luck.

The expo itself had the new Wagoneer by Jeep, the annoyingly loud Challenger, the Lucid Gravity, the ID.Buzz, a few others, and a bunch of neat e-bikes, motorcycles, scooters, etc.

Hey that’s my Lightning and Mach-e on the right. It is an awesome way to spend a day. The Mach-e drifting course was a lot of fun.

We didn't take them up on the drifting course. I've done a fair amount of it myself and prefer to be in the driver's seat.

I drove up from Tucson and hung out with my brother there. The drift run was fun but it was driver dependent. We watched while in line and one driver was ok. He had to pause and a second car came out to start taking laps. That driver was very good.

I was disappointed that no EVSE manufacturers where there. I wanted to grill them on bidirectional charging.

Lastly, I laughed at the Lexus both when I saw they used the same mobile charger as Ford.

I really like the Gravity, but our trip to Moab rekindled the offroading bug and so my partner is considering what more off-road capable EVs are out there or up-and-coming.

Almost forgot, took this pic for @TaxmanHog, I don't have a motorcycle license so I couldn't test drive it.

I was really hoping for a cruiser or a bagger but didn't see one. Or even an adventure e-motorcycle like HD did for Ewan McGregor in Long Way Up. But the ones I saw at the expo were mostly for around-town driving, and I do longer trips on my bike.
