I got a "Shift Module Error" on my 2021 F150 Hybrid at 45,000 miles which has a Premium Extended Warranty. The dealer cleared the error and said that the module has an update that they believe may address the error BUT they said the Ford Premium Extended Warranty that I purchased does not cover module programming and I owe $189 for the programming. I contacted Ford Warranty and was told that their warranty covers module replacement but not programming. I argued that the programming is a component of the module and therefore is covered just as it was with the original warranty. Prior to the ability to reprogram modules, they were outright replaced and a reprogramming charge is significantly less. I argued that the shift module operation is part of the power train warranty but I got nowhere.
Have others experienced this same issue with the Ford Premium Extended warranty? Considering the number of modules, $189 each for programming when I expect warranty coverage is a significant issue.
