For what its worth, there's a lot of duplicates on the list. A few are clearly multiple reservations by a few people, but most duplicates are just duplicates.

When I think about having 27,000 reservations in front of me … that's a long line at the deli ... but in this chart, it doesn't look so bad (and hopefully 50% of the spontaneous $100 "why not?" reservations postpone that $50K impulse purchase … : )

According to the chart on the first post, your entry is 10830xxx, not 108278xx. FWIW, mine is 11118xxx

That's a screenshot of the reservation email, not sure how/why there's another number.
Looking at the plot, every dot that's not "on the curve" must be an error.

yep. It's easy to handle the transaction load, but I doubt they (the company providing this "reservation" transaction processing system) built something to process 27,000 registrations in the first 60 seconds (there are easy, cheap ways to avoid that kind of server load spike.)
I think the simplest explanation is probably the correct one: reservation numbers started at an arbitrary number like 10813000 or 10810000 plus or minus.
(and it suits my hope of getting a car built in the first 6 months, but after the first 10,000 or so get built so Ford can dial in the quality before they build mine … : )
