Siri & Apple CarPlay inserting the word "call" in front of voice commands in navigation and texts

Experiencing a frustrating issue after the latest iOS 15.1 update on my iPhone. When using Apple CarPlay, Siri incorrectly inserts the word "call" on the front end of the voice command, rendering the command basically useless. For example, "Go to Jim home" turns into "Call Go to Jim home", which is a nonsense command and the system will not execute. Looking on Dr. Google it looks like many others across automobile makes and models are having the same issue after the iOS update, with either the word call, oh or hey incorrectly added to the voice command. Frustrating as it renders the voice interface useless. Reported to Apple but the big red apple turns slowly. Hopefully with enough flak Apple will correct in the next update. Temporary fix until the interface is fixed is to use the actual iPhone itself to input the voice command and apps like Maps will then work.
