To prevent the double command you can state "Alexa, ask FordPass to start the truck with PIN 1234". That way she won't reply asking for PIN.

PIN is needed to unlock and start. But other commands do not require PIN.
Wait how did you get my pin???!!!

I have not tried to start my truck with Alexa before. Where do you set the start-up pin?

When you connect the skill in Alexa I think it asked me.

Alexa App. Add routine. then follow prompts to add actions.

you will also need to add the skill FordPass prior to adding any routine.

Thanks for the help. Though I do not see the FordPass skill in my Alexa App. Could be due to the fact that I am in located in Canada...

Here are the insturctions:

I've been able to bypass the need for a PIN by setting a routine within the Alexa App. When I say "Start my truck" Alexa has my routine saved with my PIN. She takes about 5-15 seconds (depending on whether or not you also want your truck unlocked) then responds with confirmation.

Once you've linked your FordPass as an Alexa skill do the following:

Open Alexa App
Click "More" (bottom right)
Click "Routines"
Click "+" Symbol in the top right
Click "Add an event"
Click Voice
Type "Start my truck"
Click "Add an action"
Click "Custom"
Type "ask Fordpass to start my vehicle with PIN five five five five" replace the fives with your PIN, be sure to spell out numbers.
If you would also like it to unlock, add the following.
"Add an action"
"Wait" set to 10 or 15 seconds
"Add an action"
Click "Custom"
Type "ask Fordpass to unlock my vehicle with PIN five five five five"

Save

Now when you say, "Alexa, start my truck" she will process the custom command and inserting the PIN. It takes my Alexa 3-5 seconds before I get the "Sending unlock command to your vehicle" but it works. Once you've done that you can add commands for "Unlock my truck" and "Lock my truck" using the same method replacing "Start my truck" with "Unlock my truck" and "start" to "unlock".

I have three vehicles in my FordPass, but it looks like I can only link one to Alexa. Is that correct? If so, that's really a bummer.

I really miss the Siri shortcuts workaround that was posted on Reddit, but it broke a while back.

Yeah, a while back I used Siri through a third-party HUB. One day it completely locked my ford pass app and I had to call Ford and ask them to unlock it. They told me they do not allow third party apps. If I were to use it again it would lock me out every time. I had to completely delete everything. All my smart devices are Siri based.
