These factory systems are all overpriced. You’re better off going to crutchfield and getting actual good speakers and amps.

I'm definitely upgrading the sub, ran a 4ga power and ground already.

Found that when you take the factory sub out there is a gaping hole in the cab. I used this to run the 12v on the top of the frame to the battery, easiest power cable install I have done on an F150.

Getting a friend to 3D print me a plug for the hole and adding a grommet for the wire.

Anyone have the part numbers for the B&O 8 speaker system? and everything i need to buy if I have the xlt 302a stock system.

Im thinking of upgrading to that system or maybe get the kicker optional ford accessory

You are 100x better off going to crutchfield.com. Just 4 upgraded door speakers without an amp may sound better than the B&O. And you will pay way less. Add an amp to those speakers and you will be better than most stock systems on the market.

Reviving a dead thread here because I didn’t see this answered anywhere else. Now that people have years of experience working on these trucks, anyone able to shed some insight on what would be a recommended upgrade for the base system? I’m in a XLT ER 312a. It has 6 (or some say 7?) speakers, no logos.

I actually drove a SR Lariat with the 8 speaker BO and think the base system is much better balanced. Not as good loud, but it’s shocking how poorly balanced the base BO is. It’s basically a center speaker in the cab is all.

Anyway back to my point. I’m sure many of us are just looking for a decent set of speakers we can put in to get better sound. Crutchfield has always been my go to, I’ve done stereo installs before with them, but there seems to be no guidance on the Lightning yet. Even the gas F150, installation details are sparse on their site.

I’d like to get better sound out, without spending too much, and I’m not too keen on the idea of replacing the amp. Kicker? JVC? Are these still soldered in like back in the day or use harnesses?

Any guidance would be helpful.
