Here are some pics i took comparing the powerbass speakers to the OEM speakers.

I debated posting those myself. It was so funny, seeing them side by side, how small the factory magnets are.

I believe the powerbass stuff is meant to be totally plug and play, i just plugged everything in and went on my way, even the tweeters.

Nice looking out. I just checked and the speakers I bought have in-line crossovers so should be good on that front.

Perfect. I'm not familiar with that brand. I had to do it the way I described as I installed a 4 channel amp with my system and aftermarket speakers.

That looks like a great DIY upgrade without the hassle of adding a seperate amp.

If I did it all again, I'd probably go this route (though I'd keep JL PowerWedge, it's more nostalgic than anything else).

Don't get me wrong, I love my system now. It can scream and really open up too (it's still not fully broken in as well). It was just a hastle and I don't have my "let's help all my buddies with their car audio" kind of youth anymore.

I feel ya there. The main reason I went with what I did is less work.

Here is a picture of my bass knob that came with the HS10. There is a square hole under the steering column, so I ran the wire through that and screwed the knob housing into the plastic. I used some loom tape to ensure the wire doesn't unplug. It is easy to reach underneath the steering column to adjust the bass as needed.

I replaced mine with the $30 Dayton Audio one off Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q3M9852). It matches the 8 Ohm from the original speaker. Downside is it doesn't have a mount like the factory one. You can use the mount on it to screw into the plastic around the factory mount though and it will work. It is all covered by the dash grill anyways.
Alternatively, many people just unplug or remove it.

All my speakers I picked are 4 Ohm I didn't think to check.

The door speakers were 4 Ohm. Not sure why they made the center 8 Ohm
