Strangely named cell phone in SYNC

Hi all-
Recently, my 24 Lightning Flash has renamed my phone in the phone list to a mile long name jumbled with numbers and letters. Function is normal, so I don't have any loss of use, but I just find it weird. I did not rename my phone (double checked though) and the system left the wife's phone with the original name. We also both have the same phone. In addition, our other vehicle is a 24 Mach E Premium, and my phone is still the original name there?!? What gives? Has anyone ever heard of that happening?
Again, function is fine... It's just weird.

Did you try to remove and pair your phone back with sync to see if it fixes it?

Yes, that was the first thing I tried. Still alphabet soup. I also rebooted my phone, and named my phone something different as well.... Nothing.
Strange little bug.

Just did after your response, same issue.

Checked that after your response, no available updates, last update was Thursday. Same issue still.
I can put up with it, especially since function is not compromised.... It's just weird.

Yeah that is just weird!! I can't think of anything else... maybe a factory reset would fix it? But it is a pain to reset your profile and radio presets and all.

Yeah, I think I will just leave it, since it functions fine. I was hoping that someone might have come across it and rigged a remedy, but I have leave it, then bring it up at my next service appointment at 20k miles.
So far, this is literally the only issue I have had with the truck, and it's kind of a non-issue being so minor.

Is your phone appearing correctly on other devices. It may be your phones device ID has been corrupted.

Thanks for the insight. I did put in the original post that the Mach E lists it normally, which is why I believe that the issue is the truck. Also, my home router list it normally as does my TV Bluetooth control.
I was originally thinking it was something with Android Auto, until the Mustang ptoved otherwise.

Probably the result of translating the text name of the phone to a binary number/checksum then bad re-translation for display purposes. Kind like when you see $@*amp& trash whenever there's punctuation marks in some text when text is run through some programs. Try changing the name of your phone to see how it handles that.

I changed the name, nothing happened. Really strange. I think it's just a software bug. Maybe a later update will fix it.
