That's not a recommended solution and introducing a point of failure. Also depending on being code compliant where you're at, you may need to install a GFCI breaker on that 50A circuit. So, you're best to just remove the 14-50 outlet and wire the FCSP in its place, the FCSP can be mounted over the 2-gang box. Set to operate on that 50A circuit, you charge at 40A -- which a good bit faster than the 30A of the mobile charger.Well, to install this charger is just under $5k. Needless to say I don't really need the speed as the mobile charge is doing well. I'm thinking of just installing a NEMA 14-50 male extension and using the existing 50 Amp line and set the charger for 50 Amp. Anyone done this approach?
