Tire blew out on a new Platinum Powerboost!

Was driving on the PA turnpike yesterday when my tire light came on and boom, down to rim. It was scary as I was crossing a bridge with no room to pull over, but eventually made it to the shoulder on other side. The road was smooth and truck had 3500 miles, Inside of the tire wall has a 4" tear.

Man, also glad to see that you are OK. Are your tires the Hankooks? Hopefully this is an isolated event and not anything that turns into something like the Firestone tires on the Explorers back in the 90's!

Good thing you were in a truck with a spare. I think about this when I’m riding my old motorcycle with tube tires

I have a Platty as well. Yes, those are the cheap, fake-AT, Hankooks. I just can’t understand why Ford would put them on a $70k+ luxury truck. It’s my one and only complaint about what is a truly fabulous vehicle! I live in New England up on a hill and intend to replace these with KO2’s before the snow starts flying.

I didn't hit anything. Highway was smooth.

I'll be listing four of those Hankook Dynapros with 2500 miles on them in size 275/60R20. I just changed my factory wheels and tires three days ago.

Wow not a good experience. Gets the heart beating i bet. That's why first thing I do is lose the shipping tires. Tpugh to do on brand new pricey unit.

OEM tires are garbage. Went straight from dealer to tire shop for real 6-ply E-tated truck tires before taking new KR Powerboost home last month.
