Train ride to NorCal

I went by the dealership today to do a preliminary check-in for my production slated for a couple weeks from now (8/15). He stated that they are expecting five deliveries in the next week or so in Stockton, California (Big Valley). Mentioned the rail challenges and everything having to be bounced all over the place.

The 19th! Maybe we are on the same trailer. 99 or 5 North for all of us but I shoot east on 120 for 20 minutes into the farm land.

I was looking at the VVR and seems like waiting for the train or truck is longer then the actual travel time of said train/truck.

syrc was on the same rail car as I and he already has his, I got the short stick!

Mine too. I would have happily flown to Las Vegas to pick it up and save them all the hassle. I'm a giver like that.

I'm probably another 20 minutes past you to the east. Would only make sense to be on the same truck. So either your helping me get trucked faster or I am holding yours up since I didn't get to Vegas until the 28th. So either thank you or sorry. Then again who knows with these logistics.

Either way all good figure the fuller the load the better! When I worked at a dealership the trucks wouldn't even bother picking a load of 1 or 2 cars unless the price was good. Full load or bust unless dispatch tells them to load it anyways. Light loads = less money. Also they want the smallest cars possible as a load of 9-10 cars is nearly double as as load of 5 trucks and a car - if the pay model is the same as where I worked.

My bet its more of a constraint of trucks then anything.

At this point I'm satisfied with knowing it's probably days away and not months. Unfortunate thing is my dealer is end of the line. Nothing past me or near me. Maybe they can get a full load between Escalon, Oakdale, and Sonora. If all Fords are going to Vegas there has to be some escapes and explorers waiting for a ride.
Leaving on a trip possibly tomorrow or as late as Tuesday, hoping for delivery. Would be nice to take it. Only brand new vehicle I've purchased in 20 years. A little excited .

My delivery window remains at 8/2 - 8/8. Although it could change or be late, I am betting on seeing it by the end of the weekend.
