Warranty Reimbursement

I've seen in the powertrain malfunction thread someone mentioning calling Ford for reimbursement of some expenses during a warranty repair like rental car, fuel. I don't see this included in the "Battery Electric Vehicle Warranty Guide." Page 12 first paragraph states Ford is not responsible for loss of use of your vehicle, the cost of rental vehicles, or fuel.

Is there a law that says otherwise? Is Ford being more generous than their warranty guide says they need to be?

I think those are cases in which Ford opted to take extra care of a customer, not out of legal obligation, but rather to promote goodwill toward Ford and more specifically Ford EVs. As the division has not been as profitable or productive as the number-crunchers hoped and expected, I would assume that the goodwill dollar pot has shrunken a bit, if not emptied altogether... YMMV and having the extended warranty with the added rental car coverage is always a good option and leverage point in my experience.

Ask for Battery Electric Vehicle team
If you get a gasoline powered loaner, you can let Ford corporate know. They'll ask for your VIN and mileage. If your VIN and mileage qualify, and they still have budget left... they'll give you a case number and ask you the keep the receipts to submit for reimbursement.

This is counter to the statement of exclusions page 12 first paragraph of "Battery Electric Vehicle Warranty Guide." Get it while it lasts.
