I am going to install a dash cam with a rear window camera. I think I'll go with the Rexing V5 and the plug and play rear camera.
Any way, I have been looking for any easy to access 12DVC power source that is switched on with the ignition. I found this unused connector behind the rear crew seat. The brown wire is relatively large-gauged and is 12VDC, switched. It is part of the same harness that feeds the amplifier. Its location is convenient because it is easy to get to and it allows me to run the wire from the dash cam to it along the headliner along with the wire that will connect the rear camera to the dash camera. This seems a lot easier than trying to snake the power wire down a pillar, through the dash and to the OBDII or through the fire wall to the fuse box.
Before I do this, I want to make a sanity check. Anyone know what this connector is used for? Will using it cause an an issue?
