I get your gripe. When I bought my first new car in 2000, the sticker said 25mpg. At 70mph it got 25mpg. Simple. My lightning has never been able to get close to 320 miles on a 100% charge. No matter what. Conditions have to be perfect to get that. My 2000 cougar did close to that no matter what. Hyundai and Kia got sued and had to pay out for putting an mpg on the stickers that most of their cars count not reach. Point is it says 320, and most won’t do that. I love my truck and have zero intentions of selling it, but I welcome a law suit for false advertising.

Adding a live consumption number is a no-brainer. The live consumption is actually already there on the GOM ... it just doesn't have a number on it. The same, really, as the actual % remaining number that was added recently on a software upgrade.

It might be best to have it buffered a bit, say, over the last 15 seconds, so it's readable and not changing by the second. It could also be presented as a graph like fuel consumption is shown on the F150 ICE ... maybe one bar per minute for the last 10 minutes. That way people could see the relative impact of going up and down hills, going into and out of wind, speed changes, etc.

There may be some complexity to it, as well. Heat pump cycling, for example, may not be apparent to the driver, so it may add some confusion... "How come my live consumption went up all of a sudden?". A split graph like the This Trip strip would overcome that.

But, more information would go a long way to reducing range frustration by allowing users to see, understand and manage the factors impacting range and giving them a semblance of control over their drive.

In the same vein of reducing range frustration, maybe even a notification at startup to remind people about preconditioning if the vehicle is started with a cold battery.
