Hi, I’m a plumber and had a full comericial topper installed to carry pipes and tools. The tailgate was removed because the topper goes down to bed. Now my front camera and other cameras are not working. It says the tailgate is open and sensors not working. I see two molex connectors that are disconnected under the bumper. The tailgate has those two connectors hanging off the bottom in my garage.
Has anyone gone through this conversion before. Is there a way to bypass anything or take apart the sensors from tailgate and connect them under the truck? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

The manual has a description of the steps required. I'm surprised the installer didn't do this properly. There should have been a cap in your glove compartment that is plugged into the tailgate electronics harness.

They didn’t install the plugs. I just found them and installed them but other cameras are still disabled.

Try the old detach the 12VDC negative terminal for a bit and reconnect to reboot the system. It is the mystery repair for bugs with the Lightning. Sometimes it just has to forget to remember.
