I just got back from a weekend camping trip using this trailer for the first time. This trailer has a dry weight of only 370lbs. When loaded in is still under 500lbs. I drove in a head wind for 185 miles and got 2.0 kWh. On my drive back home with a tail wind I got 2.3 kWh. It is about the same average I got about a month ago to the same camp ground with no trailer. I am 5'10" and I can sleep comfortably in it. I stay at a 50 amp campsite do I can charge over night. When traveling on the highway I kept it at 70mph. People at the camp ground made fun of the little thing but it was so much better than sleeping in a tent and it didn't effect my range. For me it was perfect for a weekend get away.

Absolutely love it and can't believe you fit in there. Can you provide link or details for the camper?

Is that a twin bed?

Very nice Brent!
Could you go little deeper into the efficency. You say you got 2.0 kWh. and 2.3 kWh.
Is that per 1 mile? Or what?

yes, that's a 'tear drop' type camper/trailer and is a step up from sleeping on the ground : ) not much room for anything else, but a dry place to sleep : )

I don't imagine your range would be impacted in any noticeable way with such a light and easy single-axle trailer....it hardly knows it's there...

It is made by Time to Trailer in Ohio.

I did not buy it new though. I found it on Facebook marketplace and bought from a gentleman that used it once for his motorcycle. It was to big for him to tow. I got for $4800 and it's like brand new.

I got 2 miles per kilowatt going there and 2.3 miles per kilowatt coming back. I have a standard range battery and I live 185 miles from the campsite so I didn't have to charge on the way.

The mattress is 44 x 74. I was able to sit up and watch a movie on the TV before bedtime and change my clothes. There is storage above where my feet go and had plenty of room for everything for the weekend. There is also two shallow storage areas below the mattress. There is no air-conditioning but with the circulation fan at the top it was very comfortable. I plan on camping in the fall with an electric blanket to stay warm.

Hey, this is interesting news Tinglyfeeling! There may be some similarly sized off-road trailers that could also be “towable range friendly”, for those that want to go 4x4 off-road adventuring…

Did you run into any problems with charging at your campsite? I am under the impression that RV parks don't like vehicle charging because of electrical infrastructure issues.

I have only been to state parks to camp and haven't run in to many issues. I did last week when the 50 amp service was not working. The park services came over and found that it was only running on one leg of the 240 volts. Luckily there was another 50 amp site available so I was able to switch sites. With the camper being so small it was not a big issue.

It's the standard way that the range for EV's are measured. It's miles per kWh. To get your range, take the value and mulitply it by the amount of kWh in your F150. If you have and ER, that is 131. For for Brent, he got range of 301 miles on his return trip (131*2.3), assuming he has an ER. (Turns out Brent has a SR.)

I wonder if one could unbolt the cabin from the trialer turn it 180 degrees and slide it into the back bed of the truck? But it's small enough it doesnt effect range anyways. ;) (y)
