Will this tool avoid the warranty?
Also what is the best affordable adapter that works with FDRS.
Thank you
This is the ford OEM dish software it’s what they use at the dealers
You would need a VCM3 or VCM 2 the 3 is newest it’s about $1500

AND the software itself is another $900+... Definitely not something designed for the average at home DIYer.

Well, one step closer. I can now look at the hitch view and bed camera in motion.

Unfortunately, I haven’t figured out how to get the side view rear cam to work. I have added the bed camera tile on the side view, but no image there. Maybe it’s one of the IPMA changes that @Jesse-Infotainment had mentioned earlier. Not sure yet if it’s an APIM or IPMA issue.

The video is there obviously, as seen on full screen, but something has to format it to the side view. Maybe a trigger command. There is a bed view soft button there as well, but it doesn’t do anything but beep.

See photos, I can press the camera button and it goes first to hitch view, press again and it goes to bed view while going down the road at any speed. I had too many other chores to do today to spend anymore time on it.

Yeah, unfortunately i believe that to be something the new IPMA that ships in the later builds is only capable of. That and the full screen Cargo cam. The IPMA did change in July builds. They are capable of both. I believe it to be the IPMA.

I haven't ruled out 100% the APIM with later builds adding it but I feel its low percentage. The onlt reason i havent ruled it out is due to not being able to test the newer build on my older IPMA. I hope to be able to soon.

It could be a combo of both the later build and newer IPMA. I messed with trying to get the cargo cam to display and could not. The calibrations are completely different between early IPMA and July IPMA>

Also it seems in conversation with livnitup the newer build limits the cam views in motion to those same views that we have with the IPMA update.

@Jesse-Infotainment which modules in Forscan could potentially affect my connectivity issues? I've tried reset Ford pass connect in Sync 4, removing the vehicle and (attempting) to re-add in the app (still no luck there), master reset in sync 4... I'm going to revert to my factory as-builts on any module that contains connectivity settings, but I'd rather not revert EVERYTHING back to stock if I don't want to.

The TCU is on the back wall. That’s the main module for the telematics.

did you ever get an error stating anything about different vehicle? I’m just wondering if maybe you did something to the vin storage in the BCM possibly. If you inadvertently did that could cause a big problem because you have now reported that TCU as associated with a different vin

other than that when my situation happened I had to wait overnight before I tried again

the other thing is to make sure your the administrator of the FordPass account. What I mean is if you have granted access to others you would need to remove their acces also to fully remove the vehicle

I’m just throwing things out there that can cause this because I don’t know what you have done.

I would suggest to either unplug the TCU (back wall behind passenger rear seat) or pull the battery for a while and let it sit also)

I did have the issue but I did get it resolved the following morning

are you getting the activate car on the sync screen? Can you post a video possibly of the process you are going through so I can see what’s happening

Also maybe go into Forscan and see what DTCs you have in modules. It may give some indication of what’s happening

GWM, the specific module that was altered by the 2.1.0 OTA update is showing this DTC. Tried to restore the GWM module to my original factory as-built, but it said there were no changes. Tried to restore IPMA to original factory as built, and it gets to 8% and says service procedure interrupted. So, I went through and tried to write each line in the module one by one. All said no changes until I got to 706-29-xx. That one attempts to write, but shows service procedure interrupted. That particular line is for SensorCfg_DPAC_Homography3. I have no idea what that is, and I definitely never touched it.

706-34-xx has also apparently been altered, but cannot be restored. That one is listed as CustomerSetting_AHBOnOff_Pers1 (CSAHBOOP) • CustomerSetting_AHBOnOff_Pers2 (CSAHBOOP) • CustomerSetting_AHBOnOff_Pers3 (CSAHBOOP) • CustomerSetting_AHBOnOff_Pers4 (CSAHBOOP)

I am not getting any activation screen in SYNC. The app shows activation pending and then I get the error message I showed earlier.

Yeah That DTC in regards to the IPMA ethernet was on mine after that 2.1 update as well.

What is the build date of your truck?

The IPMA would not affect you Activation.. My IPMA isnt even the one that came with the truck since I updated to 360 cam.

I would disconnect power to the TCU for a while or disconnect the battery. I was getting an error at first also then I left it over night and it was fine in the AM.

If you didnt change anything in terms of your vin you are fine. I have changed all kinds of things in my truck and those things will not have an affect.

The TCU plug is easy to get to if you fold the seat back down like youre getting to the jack. Peel the rear carpoet back and that is the TCU.. Just unplug it for the overnight and then plug it in the morning and try again.

Sweet! I appreciate your help! I'll give that a shot.
I did not, to my knowledge, alter anything involving my VIN number. I was also very careful anytime I was in Forscan to make sure that I was making the changes that I intended to make and nothing else. Not saying it couldn't have happened, but I think it's fairly unlikely. The only reason I brought it up in this thread is because I was wondering if some change I had made maybe didn't play nice with the new update. I wanted to fix the issue with Forscan if possible, before bringing it in to the shop while I'm at work.
It is worth noting, not sure it matters, but connectivity was not lost immediately after updating anything in Forscan. It was literally lost immediately following the OTA update to 2.1.0.

Most likely the gateway module needs to be reset again or something. I have done stuff to my truck since the update. I just changed some things in the gateway actually last night. I have had some glitchy stuff with the connectivity. I paid for a year of service and for some reason it got cancelled and I had to buy it again after 6 months. Frustrating.. but Ford is new to all of this and will have some kinks to work out.

It is typically best to just pull power to everything for a good long while to let everything reset and reconnect. Require their connections fresh.

I remember when mine dropped it would keep saying couldn't activate. Thats when I pulled the TCU plug overnight and plugged it in first thing the morning and boom. Took right off.

Just sit in the truck when you are doing it so you dont miss the activation screen. Also make sure your connectivity settings are all on.

Im sure you didnt do the vin either. Just wanted to make sure

TCU is unplugged for the evening. Hoping it works in the morning.
I sell Fords, so I activate FordPass in these things all the time. I'm pretty well versed on how to get the damn thing to work when it doesn't want to. That's why my mind is just boggled right now. Again, I really appreciate your help.
