When you said 85% had home charging in Norway, actually looked it up and it was 95%.

When you said no fast DC charging in Norway, actually looked it up and it was 50:1 ratio, twice that of US with reliable EV tester, Nyland, demonstrating it with video after video on top of the stats.

Range anxiety is a real thing.

Testing snows on drive up to Mt. Hood in a blizzard. Get to Hood River which has Tesla and EA chargers, have 100 miles on range figure I'll hit Hood, 35 miles. Get 30 miles up and it says 19 miles left...eek!

Turned around, going downhill, slow in the snow and at 35 mph, I was charging the battery. Over 35 mph and I'd be losing range.

Good thing they were all fast DC chargers in town. L2, I would have been in Hood River for the night.

Either way, you are arguing based on a position that works for you, but not others.

It works for EV mfgs investing in fast DC chargers.

It works for EV charging mfgs investing in fast DC chargers.

It works for EV owners with no home charging.

It is based on facts of EV charging behavior, 25% outside the home now and that's with EV owner base heavily skewed to home owners.

The people putting their money on the line, billions, are putting it on fast DC charging.

To be clear, nothing against L2. Great if you can get it. I'd require all new homes, apts/condos, office parks to have L2 at every parking spot but US is not there.

Looking at the 500,000 chargers that barely passed Congress, if fast DC, that covers 30,000,000 EV owners, if L2, 1,000,000.

You must have bought an EV's with recyclable batteries. However, to say you're doing something for the greater good is a very far stretch. An electric vehicle (EV) starts with a huge advantage over an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle: ICE vehicles generally run at about 20% efficiency, meaning that 80% of the energy content of their fuel is wasted, versus EVs which put about 80% of their input energy into turning the wheels.

Solar home. $34k Reduced overall emissions 30%
EV. $52k reduced overall 40% (normally 30% but I drive twice national avg)
New ICE outboard. $18k reduced overall emissions 10%.

80% overall emissions reduction from 2000 levels which matches the science need of 90% by 2050. I'll have an electric outboard before 2050 and be zero emissions.

Fun that the F150 Lightning commercials are on NFL every Sunday. It really is the game changer that the Model S was 10 years ago.

I foresee my next truck bieng an EV. But right now my power grid is just too unreliable to be able to count on charging my EV at home.

That will change in time. And when it does, I'm looking forward to getting an EV Truck.

After 8 months and 7 rescheduled build dates without a "peep" from Ford Motor Company... I will NEVER buy another Ford again.

I wasn’t talking about me. All my EV charging happens at home, overnight. Actually more convenient than having to stop and get gas. I was referring to the people that are making EV ownership work despite having a few extra hurdles to jump. The rest of your post is just complete nonsense, pure whataboutism pretending we should not try to fix anything if we can’t fix everything. Let’s quit flogging this dead horse please.

Yikes. Where is that? Even the worst in US (W. Va.) sees just 7.5 hours of outage a year.

Be a good argument in favor of F150EV to power the house for the 7.5 hours. Even if it was 7.5 in one day, the F150EV would get it done and then recharge when the grid's back up.

I will pass on this generation of Batteries in EV's. Think the fire Liability is a killer. Maybe a Solid State Battery will fill the bill in 30 years for me ? Most likely as the Hybrid Battery gets better and the design I can use one in the next couple of years..

Never said anything about not fixing anything and I agree that some things need to change. Text's and written words are often taken out of context, and I apologize if I have done so. Reading your post gave off the impression that somehow EV owners are making some sort of "sacrifice" and helping save the earth when in theory, they are not (in my opinion) and no different than anyone else. That being said, I agree, no need to beat a dead horse.
