Well at least it will be here before I sell my truck next week. 13 months of ownership. Got no resale value for bluecruise. What say you
BC was the #1 factor that sold me on buying it..
Bought it believing I would have BC in just a couple of months.
No way I would own this truck now if I had known what I know now..

Ford rep taking VIN #'s is questionable...
Took mine. Nothing came of it.
I would like to hear that someone got something resolved by giving up their VIN'S..
Maybe I just missed someone getting something resolved..
Please post here if you did..
Ford rep took my VIN, I got assigned a case and the case manager would NEVER call me back. I complained and got 12 free maintenance services (oil changes) from Ford. Did not resolve my problem obviously, but I did get something out of it.

I've called Ford quit a few times, the latest being last week to discuss my truck not having an update since around last summer, I had the case escalated and below is the convoluted BS that I got back .
I called the OTA people back after I got the below response and said are you telling me to take my truck to the dealership to have this resolved and is there a fix? I was told yes take it to the dealer and it will all get taken care, then I was told to hang on the line for just a minute and the rep came back on the phone and said sorry, don't take it to the dealership there is no fix yet for 1.7.1, I was told to just wait.
2021 F150 Limited Job 1, Feb 2021 build, March 2021 delivery....just wait...what a load of BULLSH*t

Good afternoon,

Thank you for contacting the In-Vehicle Technology Team of Ford Motor Company. We do apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with your Ford product.

We received your escalation regarding the OTA updates for your vehicle. I see that we had a previous case, CAS-3485xxxxx, related to a failed 1.7.1 update for your truck. Until this issue is resolved, and the update completed by your dealership, you will not be able to receive OTA Power-Up updates.

As you will need to visit your local dealership for this update, I will be closing this case. Thank you for letting me assist in resolving your concern. As I will be closing your case, please look for an email in the next 24 hours with a brief survey regarding your experience with me in completing your case. Ford and I value your candid feedback to understand how we can improve in the future.

Please feel free to reach back out to us if you have any concerns by phone, chat, or social media channels. Thank you for being a part of the Ford family.

For separate concerns you can contact our Customer Relationship Center:

You will get Blue Cruise, and the first year is now free. With auto driving, late and safe is better than early and not tested, like Tesla. Plus you still have auto cruise, which is close to Blue Cruise anyway. I understand your frustration, but try to keep it in perspective and enjoy the truck until you get it, which hopefully will be soon. I just received mine this week, so you may too.

How would I know if my 1.7.1 update failed? I got the update last week and I don't see any difference. I think it allowed Apple Maps to show turn-by-turn directions in the information display and I also think it was supposed to fix the Sirius bug that only retained two pages of station presets. As far as I can see those things didn't happen. It sounds like I should take it to the dealer but how would I know that? Until this issue is resolved, and the update completed by your dealership, you will not be able to receive OTA Power-Up updates.

1.7.1 updated the APIM version to 21146. If you go to settings/General/ about sync and see what the version is. I can see what it is with your vin.

Just got off the phone with the OTA dept. They still have no new news about the release that will fix 1.7.1... He did say that replacing the api module would not help. He couldn't tell me what firmware I have. The last news for the fix they got was this past Jan. and nothing else in their computers other than the dealers will get notified.

Man that is frustrating for sure. Take out Blue Cruise, just being stuck on 1.7.1 sucks. The updates to whatever is the equivalent of most up to date does have some nice QOL improvements that I've really enjoyed. The layout of Sync looks better, Apple Maps integration in the cluster and ability to setup OTA updates (ha) every day.

I'm sure I'm way past 1.7.1... but a lot of the effort at the dealer was minimal. Not their fault.
Only thing getting the new apim is I finally got everything back on the about screen and newer maps which are still old. With all the manual updates I've been doing, things are better. I'm prob in the 2.3xxx range. New Mongoose coming today, hopefully early enough so I can get real caught up.
My call to the mothership was to see if they can see activity, why Im not getting otas and/or see what versions I'm on and they cannot. They haven't heard anything from above since Jan.

Just curious and new to all this but why is the Mongoose better? I have had no issues with the nano and did 15 updates last week.

The nano works for most updates but it does appear that the recent update to the Cruise Control Module (CCM) has caused it to go offline when updating through the Nano. Nobody so far has reported issues updating the CCM with the Mongoose. There's also the problem that the Nano creates when you do a network scan that corrupts data. See below as well!
