Where are you guys seeing xxx/447 on your window stickers? I see my blend date (05/06) at the top along with 8511 next to it. Further over on the right I see 1/194. That can’t be it?

It is on the right top side of the window sticker to the left of the QR code. There are two numbers there where one is on top of the other. For example, mine is 005564 on top and 316/447 on the bottom. You are 31 trucks ahead of me since my number next to my blend date is 8542, so your number on the right should be 315/447.

Why do you think that there are two separate quota's? In the same week we have a 194 and 447. They are all being built at the same plant, so I don't get why that is. Are the 194 customers, mannequins or a mix of them both?

I don't know why they have two values, these VIN's are Customer Special Orders no mannequins at all. I'm going to sample the sheets Friday morning 4/29 to see if anything has changed on the 194 or 447 values.

Did you type up all 200 window stickers you found on AutoTrader? And do you have a folder on the cloud that you can share that I can look at to see if I can analyze? I'd like to take a look at all the data to see if anything sticks out. I'm retired, so I have a lot of time. If you need help with anything. I no, that it's very time-consuming, so I'm willing to lend a hand if you want it.

Heading out of the house for a while, I will push something to google-sheets later this evening when I get back. I'd hate to see you recreate the copy/paste work I did last evening, also retired data-geek bureaucrat.

Nice. I'm retired after 25 years in the Army. So I spend my days doing whatever the hell I want pretty much. I've always had a fondness for numbers and spreadsheets. I'll send you a direct message, if I can figure out how to do that, with my email address.

Maybe they represent different shifts or lines?

I find it hard to believe that they're running multiple shifts at this point. If you factor in people's blend dates, It looks like Ford is working 6 or maybe 7 days a week with at least one shift. If they can produce 200 vehicles a day at the Rouge plant, then there's no way they can be running multiple shifts. At full capacity that is 1,400 vehicles a week And they only are producing 447 of that.

This whole 194 vs. 447 thing is confusing enough.

What's the significance of the 4th digit from the end of the VIN sequence? I have a 2 there and I've seen trucks before and after mine with a 5 there in that slot. Mine's a Lariat. Does a 5 in that slot mean it's a Platty?

No that is just a serial sequence number (5 digit block)starting after NWG

Apparently they are produced out of serial sequence..? Not sure of the point of having a VIN sequence if they are producing vehicles out of sequence, if you get me.

Or I'm just being as thick as two short planks.....

VIN#s are assigned WAY before a vehicle/parts/blending happens down the line, depending on parts available, issues with technology, or something that takes the vehicle 'off line' or out of sequence...

when you got your VIN# weeks ago, there was no real way to Guarantee that it will be right behind the prior VIN# and right before the next... humans are involved.
