Train ride to SoCal

I thought I’d post the daily locations of the train car supposedly bring my Lightning to California, ultimately San Diego. On Friday (06/03) I finally got the “built” email from Ford. I used Ford chat to get a status update and was told ramp 59 and the rail car number. Expected delivery 06/30-07/06. Called CSX to get rail car status and status was accepted from customer and location was Dearborn.

Saturday (06/04) got a “shipped” email from Ford, check rail car and it was in Flat Rock, Mi.

Checked rail car status this morning and it is in Battle Creek, Mi. At least it’s moving west.

I’ll post updates as they come. I would love to be in the two week early camp.

Although the build emails seem to be delayed, the shipped and arrived emails seem pretty accurate. Still waiting for my shipped email (build was 5/30). Looking forward to following your journey since I can't follow my own yet.

For reference, I got the shipped email On 6/3. I’m in Orange County. My estimate delivery is 6/29-7/5. Got my railcar number and it said it would be in West Chicago by 6/6. Called today, it arrived in Chicago this morning and is already on its way to City of Industry near LA due to arrive on 6/11. If that’s true, it should get delivered way sooner than 6/29.

I’m curious where my rail car will go next. Kind of feel like Chicago is probably a hub, but I’m definitely no rail transport expert.

My truck was supposed to be built on 5/25. I could dream that my truck is on that train headed to SOCAL. If nothing else it would be cool that my dealer gets his demo truck down here in San Diego.

I used the Ford chat system and gave them the VIN. They responded with Ramp and rail car.

I believe it is where the car is loaded. Mine was Ramp 59, someone smarter than me might be able to explain the Ramp locations better than myself . Seems like Ramp 59 was where vehicles went for extended hold.

It went to Hammond IN (Gibson yard) today, which seems like backtracking.
