They emailed and they had one for sale yesterday and another for sale today. Both Lariat, the unit that sold was white and the other is this one.
Smoked Quartz Lightning Lariat

Perhaps someone nearby can grab it.

I'm not sure what 'sold over msrp' means, as there are NO Lightnings for sale to the public, ANYWHERE - all Lightnings that have arrived or about to arrive or have been ordered are either a CUSTOMER's vehicle, or a Dealer's DEMO vehicle, which can't be sold.
It will be a LONG time before any dealer has ANY Lightning simply 'for sale' to the general public. Many of these sites pretend that they 'have' Lightnings, but they are not for sale.

Nope. If a customer chooses not to buy his special ordered car when it arrives at the dealer, the dealer can do what he wants with it. It's only the demos that can't be sold for 6 months.

@hturnerfamily I spoke to someone at the dealer and they were both on site and sold. They sent me the link to the doc folder and asked if I was interested. I wasn't as I have an order and really want max tow package.

As someone else already explained... Dealers are not receiving stock to sell. The only way they could have possibly had a Lightning available is if it was a customer order that got abandoned.

Since they had multiple available at a time, this strongly suggests they are adding ADM forcing people who ordered Lightnings to back out at the last minute so they can sell it to the highest bidder and increase profit.

Also... You just confirmed they were on site and sold.. so if they were already sold why did they ask if you were interested? Either they were sold or available for interested people, but they can't be both at the same time.

If your order is through this dealer, you will likely get the same treatment.
I would assume they were orders that were abandoned for one reason or another. I wouldnā€˜t think there was any alternative other than they were custom orders not delivered for one reason or another-nor did I imply they were just random trucks in stock.

I also have no insight on what they charged as I didnā€™t ask. I just assumed there was an ADM.

This is the email I received

the first Lightning we got in, (G04196), sold yesterday. This particular Lightning that you have asked on (G04343) arrived yesterday but has just sold this morning. Neither one sold at list price

Right... Such as when customer backs out because a dealer pulling shenanigans and adding ADM after the order was placed.

Very few customers are going to back out for no reason this early. Even if somebody didn't want the truck anymore, they could buy it and auction it off immediately for a big profit.

So when you say one reason or another... What other plausible reason would cause multiple trucks to be abandoned by customers so quickly?

Although I am sure you were trying to be helpful by sharing that there was a Lightning for sale at this dealership, I really don't think helping dealerships who are ripping people off is a good idea.

Some dealerships are intentionally driving up prices on people who waited a year for a vehicle they thought would be obtained for MSRP in an effort to blackmail the customers into paying much more at the last minute or canceling which allows the truck to be sold to the highest bidder.

It's a win either way for the dealership, but these tactics should not be encouraged or enabled in any way.

Ok, I donā€™t know the reason but I would suspect most orders that donā€™t follow through would be due to ADM. I know if that happens to me I wonā€™t be purchasing either.

My father grew up in lower Manhattan, so from the area. I saw her name and assumed somewhere along the line we are relatedā€”unless itā€™s not her maiden name. I donā€™t know her. Thereā€™s a dentist in Brooklyn with same first and last name. I get a lot of his correspondence from Mercedes Brooklyn which is the same owner as the dealership where my wife and I have bought cars over the years.

Precisely. Even though I know these shenanigans are taking place, it still pisses me off every time I see a dealer get away with it.

If your angry dealers are gouging people, I get that and sympathize with folks that got screwed after waiting a year for this. Iā€™d be surprised if Ford ever saw another sale from those folks. And as mentioned earlier, I wonā€™t be buying under this circumstance nor will I buy again.

This will be the 3rd Ford in my stable. If I get screwed thereā€™ll never be another.
