My guess is that it was entered in thinking the truck arrived at Richmond.

Now I am really confused. Yesterday when I called the UP 800 number to trace the railcar that I believe my Lightning is on I heard:

Loaded departed - July 25th, 12:55PM
Estimated time of arrival at Industry - 7/28 10AM

I called again this morning and heard:

Loaded departed - July 26th, 8:07AM
Estimated time of arrival at Industry - 7/28 10AM

I am pleased to hear that the estimated time of arrival at industry is still the 28th, but apparently I don't understand what "Loaded departed" means.

The only other lightning allocated to the dealer I am using just got dropped at the rail yard. It’s an antimatter blue lariat. I’m wondering if the owner is lurking here.

I should've added, I fully expect this new truck to make it before mine does.

Ford's webisite just updated my delivery (Atlanta, GA) to 7/23-7/29 from 7/20 - 7/26. Not real sure why we all keep getting our delivery dates changed, as Ford has delivered many vehicles to our dealerships so my guess is that they don't have quite the control over the delivery process as they once did. Blame it on the chip shortage....lol

The eastern railroads are in complete disarray. Hot weather (>90ºF) causes many slow orders due to the possibility of thermal rail expansion. Not that very many trains ever get up to speed with their new operating plans, anyway.

Maybe a pause along the route to disconnect a set of rail cars and add more rail cars

My rail trace said pretty much the same thing as yours this morning. I would guess each stop at railyards to drop cars and pick up new counts as loaded and departed but it just references west Chicago as when UP picked it up from CSX which took it from Dearborn to West Chicago (pure speculation). Who knows where are "industry" is right now. Vegas maybe, or maybe Richmond since the earlier shipments decided to joyride in Vegas instead of going straight to Richmond. At this point I think this may be a little uncharted territory with rail delays and embargoes, trucker shortages and strikes. At least the "industry " date hasn't changed lately.

I'm speculating that they are holding them in Vegas until the embargo is over, then to Richmond. My tracking from United Road shows that it hasn't arrived at Richmond but will be shipped from there to my dealer. Though its all guesses right now.

Not if the railcar is reported as moving empty now. It's headed back to get another load somewhere.

My understanding is CSX will trace any rail car they transport to its destination from the time they pick it up regardless if the car switches to another carrier…UP only tracks rail cars they transport. You might check the CSX tracker against the UP tracker to see if you get any different/additional info. It would also verify if the info I have on CSX trackers is accurate

So my delivery estimate moved today to 7-24 to 7-30. How do you make the beginning of the range in the past? I'm not surprised that this moved but what I am surprised about is the number of cars that have moved from the staging area to the dealer that were dropped there after mine. Oh, well, nothing I can do but wait.
