Found out yesterday that if you push and hold the volume dial that the screen will go black with small displayed information in the center. Tapping the screen will bring it back to normal.

They call it “calm” mode. The dash screen has the mode too.

I pretty much keep it in that "calm" mode all of the time. Otherwise it can be a little bit distracting to have the big bright screen in the corner of my eye, especially if it's on the GPS mode always moving around.

I pretty much keep it in that "calm" mode all of the time. Otherwise it can be a little bit distracting to have the big bright screen in the corner of my eye, especially if it's on the GPS mode always moving around.
And I'm the opposite - I prefer the location map up all the time... I do use calm mode on the instrument cluster, though, I dislike all the crazy dancing icons and meters.

For the dash I consider it the opposite of calm mode as it shows battery as percentage. That thing goes down fast when going fast.
