I want to install a set of remote jumper cable terminals for the 12v battery on the passenger side of the truck under the fake charge port cover. I have a magical ability to drain undrainable batteries so I need some help. Looking to see if anyone has come up with (for the DIYer) an aftermarket set of hinges I can install and mount the “removable”passenger side cover without breaking the OEM cover. Or a total solution: new hinged cover plus a set of pre made cables with eyes and terminals on an easy to install mount.

I feel like you could turn that space into a James bond gadget compartment for your truck. Looks to be a lot of space in there.

Jewelry storage, lesser used plug adapters, cords, smoke screen, the possibilities are endless.
Rocket launcher.

Could you tell whether the cover could be separated into two parts? It looks like the panel with the emblems clips onto a larger plastic panel.

Yes. With a little work. I’m not a plastic molding material scientist. Think you could drill out what look like plastic rivets around the edge and the two pieces would separate.

To take the faux cover off is very easy. Two tabs on top, two on the bottom. The fender liner is some kind of cloth like material (help me out here) that could be easily cut and u could reach thru to pop out the cover if the battery was dead and frunk closed but I’m not cutting anything on a new truck. When the frunk is open you can just reach in and pop the piece out with no tools.

Once mine comes in I can measure it, model one up, print it out and see how it works. Gonna be a wait though, 2023 Pro here...
What is required? I don’t know the 3D space but is there a scanner associated with 3D printing? Could I take mine somewhere and have the cover scanned and send you a file? Back in January Ford provided a truck to a company or they bought it and scanned the truck for after market manufacturers to use. I don’t know if they decomposed the truck.

A 3d scan would make it a whole lot easier, but it is certainly not necessary... I'm quite an accomplished modeler! It would take a few iterations to get it to work well and fit well. There are some design issues that 3d printing comes with that injection molded plastic doesn't have to deal with. I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for a huge, deep compartment though.

Please lord - the world did not need to know that panel came off that easy.

My gut tells me already that many of us will get to buy several of those and Ford will have to come up with some sort of lock or more permanent mounting. That has to be about the most stupid idea I've ever seen - a panel snapping out that easy that is a major part of the fender.
