This is not a fact.

All we know is those who extended a previous reservation, but didn't select a Pro on their extension, were not allowed to order a Pro.
From the ford website

“Do those invited in subsequent waves have the same chances of getting the vehicle they want as those in earlier waves?

As invited reservation holders begin to convert and submit orders, we will monitor available commodities and configurations and update the online configurator for each wave. Reservation holders invited in earlier waves have a greater chance of ordering their preferred configuration.”

I've read that too. This still doesn't make Pro's being sold out a fact. Not sure how you are interpreting that.

There have been 2 Waves of "special" orders for MY23 so far. Both of those "special" waves were for customers who were invited to order MY22 but their configuration was unavailable and they chose to extend their reservation.

Wave 1 were customers who extended Pro models. Those people could literally select any trim as Ford was fine upselling people. Wave 2 was those who extended an XLT that had been sold out, those were not allowed to downgrade their reservation to a Pro but could upgrade to any other trim. These 2 Special Waves are also getting instant rebates to match the price to MY22...another reason Ford may not want to let Wave 2 order Pro's.

That is all the actual information we have. MY23 Pro's MAY BE sold out, but it hasn't been stated as a fact.

The people I'm going to feel really bad for are the 1st day reservation holders that get a Wave 5+ invite for MY23 with no Pro or XLT availability.

If they don't convert their order, they get refunded their $100, and lose their reservation.

Everyone is complaining about Ford's screw ups in this roll out...this here is going to be the most egregious thing Ford does.

No email. Placed my reservation 30 minutes after the presentation started 5/19/21.

I am beyond disappointed with how Ford handled the reservations, orders, and prioritization process.

Without the old tax rebate, I don't think I can even justify spending the money to get a Lariat ER like I wanted, especially given the price increases on the 2023 models.

I'll keep my reservation for now, but I doubt I place an order even if given the chance.

Wonder if the price hike had anything to do with them wanting to keep the deposits in their bank???

Hello email said. This is Ford. We've been ignoring you for months. Don't worry, we still got your money.

Oct 31 reservation in AZ...not surprised I didn't get an email. I fully expect to not get an invite until the price goes up again for the '24 MY. I've resigned myself to sacrificing range to get the rebate on a SR Lariat. I'm beginning to think I'll have better odds at scoring a Ram 1500 EV.

Can any reservation holder confirm that they did NOT get the subject email? What would be great is if they just sent them out to everyone and schedule the full 2023MY. Not sure if that's a possibility, but it would relieve some of the "haven't heard a peep from Ford" pressure.
Didn't receive an email and not surprised at this point. Not holding my breath anymore. Going on 16 months now and nothing nothing nothing. I just check in here ever once in a while. Was excited for a while....that was then.

This has been pointed out a few times:
  1. The deposit is being held by the dealer, not Ford.
  2. The deposit is supposed to be held in a non-interest bearing account.

Order date, 5/20/21. I did not get an email.

I calculated that I'm in the top 15k orders based on my research, but I cannot confirm that. I'm patient, but Ford has done a mediocre job with ordering and customer communication. Developing a FAIR list of orders based on timing would not be hard to do vs. cherry-picking who DESERVES an early allocation. I don't care if influencers get the product early; that's part of the game. But when you have well over 200k people who are interested in your product, you have to have diplomacy. First come, first serve. None of us need this truck, so dealers being allowed to choose signals that the buyer who might be able to own 20 cars is more important than the buyer who can only afford one.

I used to have an aftermarket wheel company, and when we were selling like hotcakes, it was simple: 1. Contact our dealer network and put down a non-refundable deposit. 2. You went on a build list. 3. We built to that list. I had Shaq call me personally and try to get wheels early, and I told him that's not fair to all of the other customers who have paid and been waiting patiently. That's the right thing to do, but also takes conviction as you are leaving marketing opportunities on the table. I am rooting for Ford, but just be fair....everyone deserves the same chance based on order timing. If you ordered six months later, you might have to wait a while. That's life. I ordered a Rivian far later in the cycle only because they are a new company and had no history. I didn't expect our truck sooner because I didn't;t order until 2.5 years later. I'm ok with that. I ordered later.

Just my 2 cents you didn't ask for...lol

Congrat's to everyone.

IMHO, this is staggered based on your your prioritization with your dealer and or your original reservation time stamp. You will see the initial ordering waves coming soon.

Additional pre-warning emails like today will go out to others as they work down the priority/time-stamp order until dealer allocations have been extinguished through the production year.
Looks about right. And, at the risk of splitting hairs here, that’s not quite how Ford had originally laid out the process in their ordering playbook: it was supposed to go strictly by reservation time stamp at this time. Not by dealer prioritization. Obviously it’s still too early to tell which route they are going, but we’ll get a better picture over the next few weeks.

Understand you and your business was in a different position, and apparently based on some principle rather than market demands - good on you.

But for any business that sells a product, and have loyal, repeat, significant, customers, are you saying they all should equally prioritize relatively unknown, unprofitable, customers?

That sounds unrealistic to me; or, at the very least, a critique that would apply equally against the vast majority of sales businesses, not at all singling out Ford as being somehow unique or uniquely unfair in this way.

Bedsides, your business appeared to take orders and fill them first-come/serve.

Ford’s reservations , are/were absolutely peppered with blaring disclosures that they were not an order and provided people with no type of guarantee about receiving any truck, ever.

To say Ford shouldn’t have meant what they said seems a little … I don’t know …. Much?

What would people do that left?? Go someplace else? You betcha. The $100 isn't the issue. It's the product sale.

In addition to getting this email yesterday, my dealer reached out and indicated I was on his list to be able to order next! I'm really hoping I can still order the Pro.
