The fact that some of them can tell you things others can't means there is great level of incompetence/lack of training but it seems like their managers are incompetent as well. Sometimes I feel bad for them because they seem like they don't have access to the the information they need to be helpful but they will be judged by my review of the call.
I always make a point to share that any frustration conveyed on the call is solely directed at @Ford Motor Company and the experience they have created, it's rarely an individual fault of the representatives who most times are simply limited by the information Ford allots to them. I'm never disparaging or condescending, having been on both sides of the phone in a similar capacity you realize that being rude gets you nowhere. I just wish our feedback was actually taken into consideration and improvements would actually take place. From the very beginning I must say this is some of the most dysfunctional customer service I've ever received from a company in my life, and I've dealth with plenty of airlines.

Rivian hired a ton of really nice people that were great communicators and would respond quickly but they were just as useless. They didn't know anything and didn't have access to anyone that did. It is more widespread than you think. They are certainly no L. L. Beans.

So if you had 21 order invite that you extended then you received a private offer that will be taken off your order price at the time of delivery. Otherwise your dealer should charge you the price from when you ordered the Lightning. So if you ordered a Pro before October 4th then your price should be $46,974 not $51,974. The price on the pro did not go up until after the Pro was sold out.
No good deed goes unpunished. One more: My dealer refuses to put in writing that I am entitled to the $7K cash offer. Every Ford agent I have talked to confirms that I am with the certificate number (my reservation number). Is the cash offer in anyway tied to me? or my dealer can simply take it? They did not put the $7K number in purchase order. Any advice on how I can make sure I don't lose on that? generally how it works? and if there is a problem, what are my options in fixing it?

You'll be hard pressed to get anything in writing. The only thing we have from Ford is that short blurb before we ordered that us deferrers would receive MY22 pricing, notably absent of any actual dollar amount. As I and my dealer understand the PCO should be for the first $7000 increase and will come in from Smart Vincent for the dealer at point if sale. Whether it actually gets applied is solely at the discretion of the dealer. Ford has confirmed this with me over the phone numerous times. If they play stupid and pretend it doesn't exist have @Ford Motor Company get involved and report the dealer. Ford claims to be clamping down on dealers not closing sales with original reservation holders for pulling stunts like this at the table. Hopefully it doesn't come to that for any of us. I tried to be proactive and warn Ford months ago that one scummy dealer is all but guaranteed to try it on some poor buyer and they are aware but they told me their hands are tied.

Remember, you are buying the truck from your dealer, but the offer comes from Ford Motor Company.

That's why your dealer won't put anything in writing.

That does not make sense. The base MSRP my dealer put in writing came from Ford as well.

It is mind boggling how screwed up this process is. Is there anything you order on Amazon that you have to wonder what it will cost you when it arrives?

It seems like $7K secret magic number is not the only number that defies the laws of mathematics because a Ford programmer couldn't update the software for it. I am told base MSRP at the time of order is protected but for some reason, I see a different number on my account now. I just hope the same people didn't write the truck's software.

Couldn't agree more!

The majority of issues complained about on these forums are the ordering process.

Ford has made an incredible vehicle... but people are so fed up with the reservation, order, and delivery process that they are either willing to wait for another company's truck (some 2+ years away) OR buy an available EV from another company despite liking Ford's product better.

If @Ford Motor Company would be TRANSPARENT and more COMMUNICATIVE with the whole process, complaints about Ford regarding getting prospective customers into their new EV lineup would far fewer.

It seems like Ford Motor Company guarantees the price at the time of order so the dealer feels comfortable putting it in writing. What you are telling me is that Ford for some reason did not make the same guarantee for this offer. I am not sure how you know this. If in fact that is the case, what you are telling me from Dealer's point of view makes perfect sense. But from my point of view still does not make any sense. Why Ford would not make the same guarantee for this offer. The offer that was a part of us making the decision to order.

I think the likely case is that there won't be a problem but my understanding is that if there is, I don't have much time to fix it. If I don't pick up the vehicle for a limited number of days, dealer can sell it. In the meantime, I didn't buy other EVs that qualify for 22 tax credit waiting for this.

OK, end of my rant for tonight. Thanks for helping with my therapy.

This is actually my biggest fear too. I'm very much in the minority, but this whole thing has worked out so well for me. Im very lucky, it definitely feels too good to be true.

My dealer hasn't given me a reason not to trust what they tell me so far...so I'm trying hard to stay optimistic.

Just got my window sticker for build week 11/28 and the base price on the pro listed is $51,974. Not worried though, should have 2022 price honored.

@Maxx glad you are finally scheduled.

The MSRP on your sticker has to match the current MSRP of the vehicle in case you decide not to buy it and its sold to another person. Ford can't change the sticker price after the truck is built so it has to be set at the higher price.

I'm in the same boat, ordered a Pro at $46,974 and the dealer sheet shows the new MSRP of $51,974. The dealer agrees that I should be charged the price shown on the order, but they can't explain why the DORA sheet doesn't match. The dealer claims (correctly I feel) that I didn't order the truck from them, I ordered it from Ford. I agree about Ford customer service, I called to ask them and while they were friendly, it was a waste of 30 minutes as they can't answer anything.

Ford: "Final pricing is set by the dealer."
Me: "Yes I know, but what starting price does Ford show?"
Ford: "We don't have any pricing. Call the dealer."
Me: "The dealer shows $51,974 as MSRP but my order with Ford says $46,974 MSRP. Which MSRP is correct for this order?"
Ford: "Again, the dealer sets pricing, and pricing varies by dealer."
Me: "What does the 'M' in MSRP stand for?"
Ford: "..."
Me: "It's manufacturer. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Pricing. I am not asking Ford for a final price, I'm asking Ford why I ordered and placed a deposit on one price, and now the MSRP shows higher on all paperwork. Surely the dealer can't be expected to cover a $5k difference between MSRPs?"
Ford: "Call your dealer."

Dealer: "We don't know how this works. Normally we just print the paperwork off at time of order. You didn't order the truck from us bro."

Anyone else please feel free to pitch in, if you know anything that can help. So far it looks like the dealer is trying to pull something. I sent them an email and will keep you posted in case yours try to get creative too.
