In Wisconsin there was some news coverage in fall about the coming 2023 increases but it did not get into the specific rate increases. I had to do some digging to find the exact increases as most residents have not received their first 2023 bill yet.

I expected over 10%, the 2 main providers in our area of Wisconsin (Wisconsin Public Service and WE Energies) are up over 20%. Which are still low compared to other parts of the country.

Fair warning to you that havent gotten a 2023 bill yet, that you may be in for a rude suprise.

A bit Bittersweet, but now the ROI on my solar went up exponentially!

I picked Not sure/rates don't change at the end of year because that's the closest answer to my rate going down. At least for the "generation supply portion" of the bill. And checking the other fees, etc, it seems those are the same.

The generation charge for 1 JAN-31 MAR is .054 per kWh.
OCT-JAN was .057.
JUL-OCT was .058.
But last JAN-APR was .049, so.....

It hasn't been reflected in our bill yet, but the newspaper reported our rates are supposed to increase about 2% next billing cycle. Our current all-in hourly rate from 11pm to 6am is 14.1 cents from October 1st to May 31st and 13.3 cents from June 1st to September 30th.

Is that thanks to all the Hydro power?
Yup. We’re at $0.10174. By 2026 $0.09287And this is in western Washington. Eastern Washington rates are like 2.5¢/KWh. Super cheap!!!

That's awesome, I wish Hydro got more attention. Yes, I know it doesnt work everywhere. A bit o' history.... USA hydro started in the Appleton/Green Bay Area on the Fox River... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulcan_Street_Plant

I drive by the OG location, which is a museum, just about every day.

When my new service to the garage was activated by National Grid, they placed the new billing account under the default R1 energy rate priced by National Grid instead of using the same provider we have on the house account, it took us a couple billing cycles to fix that to a more palatable 0.1047 c/kwh

Our first bill on the garage this past fall showed the transition to the winter 2023 rate coming from the Summer 2022 rate, a whopping 101.1% increase, THAT WAS A SHOCKER!

Hopefully the summer rate will come down, but not likely as low as last year and not as low as the coop energy I am buying from Constellation now,of which the coop contract ends 12/31/2023

Nice, the Canadians to our north would love to sell more Hydro energy to various New England states, but certain New England states refuse to permit the transmission lines, a measure of irony that environmentalists are fighting amongst themselves about the issue at hand while we all pay more.
