Heated steering wheel not working after last update

Have you done a forced reboot of the SYNC System? Done a 12V disconnect?

I find it only doesn't work if I have cabin preconditioning temp set to "warm", so you have to choose whether you want the truck warm before you leave the house and then drive with no heated steering wheel, or turn cabin temp "off" and then enjoy the heated wheel during the drive.

They removed the coding for it due to a "chip shortage" so no one has a heated steering wheel anymore . I feel pretty lucky that my MY23 XLT had zero items removed. Barely dodge the overhead truck bed 360 camera just got screwed on the price hike

Assuming that you're using the departure timer and preconditioning in the morning, try setting the departure time 15 or more minutes before your actual leave time.

By doing this the truck will go to sleep, then the next time you start the truck the steering wheel warmer should activate and will warm up pretty quickly.

Interesting divergent experiences, I actually did this yesterday, it worked for me, I can't explain why but possibly try a bit more down time ~20 minutes.

Understand that the when you enter the vehicle the wheel won't hot super hot, like you would find with remote starting. But it will turn on and begin warming up quickly there after.

I've been doing this work around for awhile to resolve absolute cold wheel with NO heating that happens when you ~START~ the truck while it is on or within 15 minutes of the actual drive time that equals your programmed departure time.

Mine never works when preconditioning... Even if I wait 15, 20, or 30 minutes. What I do now is charge to 90%. About 20 minutes before I leave I click on the Charge to 100%, about 10 minutes during the Charge to 100% I remote start the truck to pre heat the cabin. Even in extremely cold weather it keeps the Power Gauge at 100% and the steering gets and stays warm. It also adds about 2% more battery charge...

Yup, this technique works too.

For the workaround 15 - 25 minute workaround (I've been doing 25)! It may not be warm every time when you get in which is still annoying. That said you will have manual control every drive. The most annoying part of the Precondition steering wheel bug was the lack of ability to turn it on for the whole drive.
