I haven’t received a new OTA since December.

- update expired - did not redownload, with new expiration - as Ford expected.

- dealer installed new gateway module & said FDRS applied gateway update

-Ford OTA DEPT registers this error. They don’t know how to clear on their end.

Ford answer:
Engineer to shop foreman This will “just go away”, “I see this everyday”, “ updates will come”.
- doubt engineer sees this combo everyday. I think he sees “not getting” updates everyday.
- shop foreman said he was told not to apply any updates, because they want these to come naturally via OTA

Hmmm, thats interesting. No downloads since December 19th, error since December 19th.

from a logical computer programming point- why would truck be sent any updates when OTA computer registers error and last update status unknown???

i received my previous updates with others here, that group received, the 4.1.x updates starting back in January, now are posting 4.2.x updates.

I believe that the 4.2.x update may be unique to the 2023 model trucks and addressing their issues with connectivity. If you have 4.1.3 on your 2022 truck, I think you are on the latest version for your truck. I’m not sure about the update related message in FordPass, it could be an artifact from prior issues.

OTA might be naturally in queue since you already have 4.1.x.

I'd wait for it since there are some who haven't received updates since 3.5.1.

My '22 Lightning is enrolled in EA and received updates when first rolled out.

Currently my '22 is at 4.2.1 as of February.

Well you can always try pulling the TCU fuse for 15 minutes, replacing it, and then taking a drive to see if your TCU comes up with anything.

The APIM and TCU updates you had in your list on the 31st of Jan are gone now. Here's what you show this morning:

Frankly I think it's a d*** move to tell your tech not to do any updates so that nature can take it's course. As if that was going to fix anything. Muppets! Diagnosing why OTAs aren't happening, when the OTA dashboard clearly shows that your truck is trying to get them is a warranty problem.

If it was me, and knowing what I do about a similar Mach-E OTA constipation that happened at the end of last year, with a PCM update that caused a dependency issue that kept the new gateway and Sync from showing up for shed-loads of people, I'd talk the shop into doing the PCM (and the resultant 'coordinated' powertrain updates) and then see if that shakes loose a new gateway (GWM) and a follow-on APIM.

Nope. I got 4.2.1 as an OTA and then did my Sync 713 with FDRS (same as OTA 4.2.2).

@Mike G

so apparently some updates went in When they replaced the gateway module.

I’m still at sync 539, obviously no interface updates.

I’m at day 44 since my last OTA expiration. Still have error on Ford Pass, nothing on truck screen. OTA dept still reports last update status as unknown, curiously rep does not see expiration date - said field is empty/blank.

in the list you provided above, do you know if those are part of other updates pkg’s? Any of the 4.x.x’s?
thanks

one reason I’m avoiding using fdrs is that I need error to clear in Ford Pass, would also like to know that OTA updates are working

Ford’s working theory: my expiration date should be this week. Error will disappear and that truck should reconcile with ford computers as to what modules updates/versions truck has and updates will once again flow.

call me a skeptic based on my experience And others with hiccups in the process.

There was an OTA that should have knocked out some of those items in your list. It was PU-22-10-MIL-DTE.

None of those items listed above are part of the 4.x.x series.

The Mach-E community has been dealing with an issue from around the holidays where a PCM update was/is causing a dependency issue wherein until the PCM (and resultant associated powertrain modules) get updated, the newer GWM, APIM, TCU sequence of updates don't show up.

That could be what's happening here.

I've had positive feedback from at least two MME owners with 22s that said that once the tech did the PCM updates they then immediately got the gateway and APIM stuff showing up as available.

ford pass shows this update, truck shows up to date.
ford computers show this update status as unknown. Seems to me that until this update error Message clears from ford computers I won’t be sent updates.

the mismatch occurred before they installed new gateway modules and some updates were applied. But error mismatch did not clear.

I don’t know what was added to the list since I picked it up 5 weeks ago after module replacement.
At the time I was told only things in list should be applied if truck exhibited issue specific to that update - so they didn’t want to do anything.

In your OTA dashboard in PTS it shows that the update was attempted, or failed to download, or what?

OTA dashboard in pts ?

hope this isn’t obvious, but I don’t know the reference.

OTA at ford shows last error as low SOC in 12v, unknown status. - though I think that dates 2/24

2/24 is when fordpass shows update failed (occurring since dec) and download in truck vanished.
OTA dept, confused as to why truck didn’t receive new download. Stated issued download with new expiration on 2/24 at last expiration.

aprox 3/4 they installed gateway module and performed some updates - though dealer unable to tell me what fdrs updated.

my goal is to ensure that truck will get ota Updates moving forward.

Okay, sorry.

If you call your dealership service advisor and ask them to pull up your VIN in the PTS system (Ford's service advisory and tech support system) and then ask them to check your "OTA Dashboard" for any details they might have on the status of OTAs going back 60 days.

Here's what that looks like on their desktop:
Ford F-150 Lightning Anyone with Error? OTA’s not coming - Ford’s answer OTA_Dashboard

They can select the "Update Status" for each item to see the progress or lack thereof for any of the listed OTAs. You'll notice that the module the OTA affects is listed as well, and if the "Release Notes" are selected it will show the same notes that are displayed on your Sync screen.
Ford F-150 Lightning Anyone with Error? OTA’s not coming - Ford’s answer OTA_Dashboard_Item_Expand

So your service advisor should be able to tell you what they see. And if they don't know why you're not getting OTAs...well then that's a warranty problem that needs to be diagnosed and corrected.

looking at the list, is this the telematics control module (fuse #8)?

in order to avoid another 1-2 weeks at dealer I’m contemplating picking up the mongoose and doing a 2 day fdrs license. ( already loss 55 or 57 days )

both Ford customer service and the OTA want it back at dealer.

when doing fdrs, the proper connection for charger is jumper points or directly to the battery?

these messages don’t really relay my gratitude for your insight and assistance.

i updated PCM and it’s dependicies.

I did not update APIM, seeing if it would start sending the sync updates.

i have 42 hours left on license.

Well I would certainly have updated the GWM and then the APIM showing there in your list.
