Just purchased an Agate Black Lariat ER from Robert Horne Ford out in AJ. Good experience, no hassle, very little attempt at upsell (there was a little but not much). Overall a pleasant experience. Upgraded from 2003 F150 Harley-Davidson edition. I have to say the new truck are massive compared to the older version. 200 miles so far, still experimenting with home charging, L2 in town etc. I haven't tried DC charging yet, I'll probably wait until the weather cools a little I don't have any trips planned so no big deal.

Just took delivery on 11/1 in Central PHX from Camelback Ford. Decent enough even if they do lump in some forced dealer adds. But hey, I told them ahead of time to skip the spray-in and since they did it anyway I got it for free.

Hey all! Flagstaff resident looking for some input. I’m possibly picking up a Lariat ER this week and I’m wondering what your experiences driving up the hill are. Has anyone made the trip from Phoenix to Flagstaff? Our longest drive will be from Flag to Tucson and back, which we know will need charging, but hoping we can make the trip from Phoenix up to Flagstaff if we’re leaving the valley with 85% or so. 🙂

I made the trip up to Flag from the Valley last Feb on a single charge with a bit of battery to spare- started at 100% tho. Cold weather and elevation kept me sub 1.5mi/kwh, but did much better on drive back down. I’ve got an ER platinum, so the Lariat should do ever so slightly better.

North Tucson to Phoenix (Sky Harbor) takes me around 25% @ 70mph, took about 40% on the reverse trip. Haven't made it up north of Phoenix yet but I want to. My parent just visited Walnut Canyon and said it was amazing. We are planning a trip to take the kids to see several northern AZ sights.

XLT ER here. Turkey day was our first out of town drive!

I live in Central Phoenix, and just had Thanksgiving in what I would consider East-side of Flagstaff, (A mile East of Butler). Knowing this is a big hill to climb, (6k ft elevation change) I charged up to 100% ahead of the trip. When we got to New River, my dog sitter called and asked if I needed the box of food on the kitchen table.....

After I got back home, I was down to 80%. Restarted from central PHX at that SOC. Also sun was setting at that point, so as I was leaving town temps really started to drop. Nothing crazy, but close to freezing as we got to the top of the mountain. After I got to sunset point, I got behind a bobtail semi running at 65MPH and stuck with him, he kept it up even dropping down into Camp Verde and back up.

I arrived at our destination with 17 miles left on the GOM, I think the battery was down to 8% SOC.

So I can confidently say that if you keep it at 65 you can make it from practically Sky Harbor to central Flagstaff. Even better, if you top up to 80% at the EA at the Walmart in Anthem, you'll be A-OK.

It's important to note that between Anthem and Flagstaff there is no DCFC. If you have an SR, you practically have to go through Sedona and Charge there. I don't think I'd even attempt to make this trip in Winter in an SR until the Tesla SuperCharger in Cordes Junction becomes available.

FWIW the trip home I was hitting close to 3 m/kWh, gotta love those downhills, absolutely no worries going from Flagstaff to Phoenix.

That’s super helpful. Thank you!
