So, I have a reservation from the Dec 2022 invites. I ordered in Jan '23 and almost immediately contacted the dealer to make some changes(from SR to ER). They stated they weren't allowed to and that Ford would later allow the change once they were ready to build. That moment came in May, according to the dealer but there changes weren't accepted. So I asked to cancel my order then. The dealer states and has for these couple of months since stated that they don't know how to deal with this. Ford states the dealer has the funds and if their policy allows can refund the deposit.

Anyone deal with this or know of someone who has and/or any guidance to resolve?

The dealer has all your money, not Ford. Read the agreement you signed with the dealer, don't just take their word for it. Check with your state attorney-general's office to see if vehicle deposits are non-refundable in your state.

In Florida, here's the applicable law

(10) Require or accept a deposit from a prospective customer prior to entering into a binding contract for the purchase and sale of a vehicle unless the customer is given a written receipt that states how long the dealer will hold the vehicle from other sale and the amount of the deposit, and clearly and conspicuously states whether and upon what conditions the deposit is refundable or nonrefundable.

The waters are muddied a bit by Ford.com accepting the deposit. No receipt was provided by dealer or ford.com

there should have been some written contract when you made your deposit stating whether it was refundable - you might also submit a dispute with the funds source, bank or cc.

If you paid by credit card, you'll see the transactions under the dealer's name on your statement. By doing the transaction online, you accepted the terms and conditions by making the payment. You can find them here and see if you think they comply with Florida's law:

I sent an email to the accounting dept at the dealer yesterday, backtracking the last few months. A few hours later, I get an email from Ford.com about the deposit refund. Funny how that worked.
