That air suspension really helps with the inferiority complex.

For some reason the pic looks weird. When they were inside the Truck they had to go all the way to High just to reach the side mirrors….. hmmmmm

Lightning looks good lowered though lol

The dude used a wide angle shot and put CT on the side and Lightning in the middle. He parked CT closer to camera. Basically every trick in the book to make CT look larger than Lightning.

p.s. I just love the door handles on my Pro.

It seems noisier inside but Turning and software, I gotta give it to CT.

My general impression is Lightning is designed around my needs but with CT I would have to redesign my life to fit CT (The truck not charging experience).

I finally saw one in the flesh today. It was behind me on the freeway. At least from the front it looks like a spaceship.

The Front is actually not, a bit more curvature would have been better but it’s understood why that was impossible. From there back, it’s a mess, especially the rear.

The interior IMO is wasted space because of the long windshield

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying its actually ready to go to space or anything but of the 50 cars in my rearview mirror at the time.... it easily stood out out for better or for worse.

The number one selling EV truck would be Ford built with current design and Tesla battery, drive train and software. No one else would stand a chance.

Saw one at local Tesla and looked better in person. If it actually would have started at 40k I’d be considering after actually seeing it. Currently, considering lightning but only in 40k or under range with point of sale rebate.

I would take Tesla BMS and software any day. I wouldn't mind octovalve either. But I am not sure how I feel about the whole battery pack being glued together instead of replaceable modules.

Copy/paste from CT forum:

His main points:
  • Solid highway feel
  • Wont do a long trip in it again (20 hr drive from Austin to CA turned to 27 hour drive based on the frequent stops for charging)
  • 40-50min stops each supercharging stop.
  • Energy usage getting better now with local drives in warmer Cali weather.
  • Truck is finnicky with things needing to do for best efficiency
  • 3 things he liked
    • 30% more comfortable then Model X
    • Confidence on Durability with the stainless steel
    • Steer by Wire
  • Thing he disliked
    • Fingerprints are annoying
    • Doors are heavy for significant other, family, kids, etc.
    • Feels like the interior and exterior plastics are not that durable, concerns with how it will hold up
    • The A Pillar is a big blind spot

Here is my comment:

He did not compare the size at all? CT has smaller cabin, much smaller frunk and smaller (a little longer) bed.

$100k and no free charging.
The way my wife complains about fingerprints on fridge and dishwasher, the SS on SC would drive her (and therefore me) crazy.

This isn't a worry if you have good battery tech. For the naysayers, yes I know Tesla has replaced some battery packs, but lets go on record they have never had the kind of problem we hare having with Lightnings and the number sitting waiting on a fix or have been bought back due to the issues.

I'll take that Tesla battery any day of the week.
