Has anyone installed a heated steering wheel on a pro?

I just finished installing a heated steering wheel on my pro, and I believe that I have everything run and wired correctly, but I'm not sure how to get a heated wheel button on my screen to actually test it. For those that have it factory installed; is there a screen button to turn it on or is it only a physical button?

It's only a physical button on the factory installed trucks.

Check out the ICE forum. I think a couple of guys have retrofitted the heated wheel and used FORSCAN to enable a soft button on the 12" display.

They did, one of the ways switched the truck display to an f250 so I wasn't sure if that was going to throw some weird issues. The other way involved adding 8 to one of the HVAC lines, but mine shows an A in the space, and that appears to say that I have heated steering. Just wanted sure if anyone had gone the software route. I'll get the module with a button if I have to

Would anyone happen to know what the part number is for the HVAC controls on an XLT with the heated steering wheel option? That seems to be the best option for me at the moment.

I've been able to get the button to show up on the 12 inch cscreen by putting the climate bar at the bottom, but I'm still unable to actually press the button because it is greyed out. Dunno if anyone has any advice to help with that.

I’d love to hear if you or anyone else has success with this. I have no technical ability or insight to contribute, but knowing I could add a heated wheel would seriously lead me towards buying the pro. I was definitely going to get one, then swayed by some of the options built into the Canadian XLT, but a heated wheel is a must have for me.

I've heard reports of people getting it to work, but I haven't had the time to mess with it again honestly. I know lots of people did it in the gen14 forums, and that's what I did with mine but it didn't seem to work for me. I might have messed something up with the wiring though, I'm going to eventually go through it all again and check everything

Dunno if you're still looking into this, but we've gotten it working now. Requires a different test version of Forscan to program the HVAC unit, but that was the missing piece.

Which hvac unit did you get, the new one that ford is using to install the heated wheels?

@jdmackes Did you end up using the software button for this or the HVAC controls? Did the wheel pop up as an option in the hvac air vent direction menu? You happy with the addition or would you skip it next time?

I couldnt stand the style of the menu that was required for the software button so I just let it go on automatically. It works fine for me so far, only been a couple of times where I wish it had come on and it didn't. SUPER happy with it though, it's not something that I would have ever thought I'd really want until I used it on my wife's car and absolutely loved it.

I know about the climate bar, and I agree I don’t like it. But the wheel doesn’t pop up on this screen? Just having to avoid swapping the hvac module since I don’t have heated seats.
