Or better yet, solar with a battery backup! It has the advantage of free electrons for the truck! Forever.
THAT . . is what I have done, although it took me 9 months to get it accomplished. I'm now awaiting PG&E's "permission" to operate my system.

A year ago, I was looking into getting the Lightning for Home integration, SOUNDS GREAT doesn't it!
I had Solar On my Home for 17 years, and have a Back up GenSet with a Manual transfer switch, and thought it would be easier to just plug the truck into the house and "voila", your powered up.
But eventually, decided that a New larger solar system w/battery back up would be more straight forward, and ultimately get rid of paying PG&E for ANY electricity.
New system has an ATS, and a couple of batteries.

Just triggered as a back up. Can I do that with the ford app supposedly? My FCSP is basically always offline unless a Sunrun tech comes out and does a hard reset and re connect to the truck and house. But it looses connection in a day.
Hmmmm my charger is always connected. So you can't even see when your charger is connected to your truck through the ford app?

FordPass will show its charging. But I can’t connect directly to the charger with the Fcsp app. The charger has a problem with its WiFi.

So do you feel this is a viable option to be used on a daily basis? Is it easy to setup to to automatically do this daily during certain chosen hours? I’m looking at PGE pilot V2X program and want to be able to send electricity back into the grid during peak times. Also do you mind me asking what the HIS only install and system cost were? Happy to DM you too. Thank you!!
I may be wrong, but the HIS system as it exists does NOT send power back to the grid. It's only for backup when the grid fails. If the grid is up, it doesn't work, and that's the way it is (someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe I am).

You can look around, but the system is designed to kick in when the grid goes down. That's its design. V2G is not yet something Ford is pushing, although they are testing it. But you're not going to buy a Lightning and sell power back to your utility company TODAY, not for a while, if ever.

I mean PG&E is pushing it and incentivizing the ability to do so…https://www.pge.com/en/clean-energy...vehicle-to-everything-v2x-pilot-programs.html

Right. Their PILOT PROGRAM, with Ford. You can't just buy one and plug it in and feed the grid anywhere. And you have to buy the HIS system.
I prefaced the response with the pilot program, HIS, and what I'm trying to acvhieve. Don't know what you're referring to by "buy one and plug it in". Little confused on what you're saying. Also I own a lightning so this is just something I'm looking to do save cash/earn money from PGE.

I missed that you were the one at the beginning that was looking at their pilot program. So yes, for YOU, and for some Duke Energy customers, YOU may be able to do this.

Of course you need to ask "what if the pilot programs determines they don't want to do this doing forward"? But it might be interesting.

Yes, defintely a risk. PGE would give $2500 upfront then $2 kwh based on performance there after.
