from others experience with having 'Plans' from the charge providers, like Tesla now, or ElectrifyAmerica, etc., you currently have to Activate from THEIR app to get your plan's pricing.

if you use the PlugNCharge method thru your FORD account, Ford will bill you, Ford will send you an email detailed receipt, and Ford will pass thru the 'regular' pricing for that station.

According to Ford you can visually identify a version 3 or 4 Supercharger by looking at the ring on the charging cable which is located just below the NACS connector. If its black you can charge there if its silver your out of luck. Here is the reference picture and a link to it on the Ford.ca site.

That’s true but there are V3s and V4s out there that are not yet available to us. For example, there is a fairly new V3 in Halifax, NC and a brand new V4 in Suffolk, VA that are not on the list. It’s more useful to identify the V2s since they look like the V3 except they have a silver collar. None of those are useable.

I may be wrong but is the SW update necessary? I believe it can be activated with the Tesla app? Understanding the P&C is unavailable until vehicle SW is updated tho

To use the Tesla Smart Dock, I had to subscribe to Tesla’s charging @ $12.99/mo. Probably ditto if the software update isn’t sent.

If you bypass opening the Tesla app and simply rely on Plug & Charge will the ultimate bill reflect your enrollment in the Tesla Supercharging Membership and be charged a lower rate?

My guess is you need to turn off P&C then plug in and open the Tesla app to deal directly with Tesla and bypassing the Blue Oval Network with disabling the P&C. Then you should get the Tesla discount if you are a member. If you forget and do both, you may be charged once by Tesla and again by Ford Blue Oval
